Young Midfielder Set For Bournemouth Loan

Ethan Laird, a young Manchester United midfielder, is expected to join Bournemouth on loan. The physical allegedly taking place soon.

According to Football Insider, Bournemouth are on the verge of signing Ethan Laird from Manchester United. Their loan agreement with Manchester United has been extended until the end of the season, the club announced on Monday.

The player appears to have given his consent to the transfer. He is anticipated to complete a medical examination within 48 hours.

The immediate nature of the transaction means that Laird’s current loan with Swansea City is about to come to an end.

He joined the Swans on a season-long loan in the summer. The teenager made an excellent impression with his performances throughout the first half of the Championship campaign.

With 20 league appearances under his belt, the 20-year-old has established himself as a reliable member of the Swansea City back-line.

Swansea City have benefited from his three assists, which have allowed them to stay out of the relegation zone for the time being. With Bournemouth signing him for the second half of the season, the kid will be able to test himself against a more difficult opponent.

The Cherries are now in first place in the Championship table, despite having a somewhat stronger squad. As a result, Laird will be up against heavy competition from both Adam Smith and Jack Stacey for a starting eleven position.

However, it appears as though head coach Scott Parker is confident in his talents. As his squad attempts to strengthen their defensive options in January. Particularly in light of West Ham’s interest in signing Lloyd Kelly from Southampton.

What will the situation be like?

Manchester United are confident that Laird will be able to maintain his great form in the Championship till the summer. They expect him to return to Old Trafford with the possibility of making a breakthrough for the senior team.

As a result of Aaron Wan Bissaka’s inability to generate consistent results, the Red Devils are now battling in the right-back position. There are also questions over Diogo Dalot’s long-term future. This which has prompted the club to investigate the prospect of signing Kieran Trippier in January.

However, according to reports, the Atletico Madrid star has agreed to a transfer to Newcastle United. The fact that Ralf Rangnick is depending on his youth players to try to rectify the situation at right-back will not come as a surprise to anyone.

It would be intriguing to watch how Ethan Laird performs for Bournemouth throughout the second half of the season.

Ethan Laird to follow in Reece James’ footsteps?

Manchester United News: The Red Devils have one of the best academies in the world. Ethan Laird is the most recent star produced by the famous academy.

The dynamic right-back had his first loan move with League One side MK Dons in the 2021 season. He joined Swansea at the beginning of this season but is now making a switch again.

He will be now helping AFC Bournemouth with their promotion push to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old isn’t making a leap in terms of the league but in terms of the ambition of the club. The youngster will be linking up with Scott Parker’s title-chasing side.

Manchester United News: How did Laird do?

Laird, linking up with Russell Martin for a second time, joined Swansea during the summer on what was initially a season-long loan deal.

The youngster didn’t take much time to settle in the league. He fared well with the physical demands of the league and became the standout player for the Swans.

The Manchester United academy graduate often played the right wing-back role under Martin. He made 21 appearances in all competitions for the Wales side. The 20-year-old didn’t take much time establishing himself as a fan favourite at Swansea.

The Basingstoke-born fullback has the desire and ability to get forward and the ability to create chances. Joel Piroe and Jamie Paterson were always looking for a cross in the game when the loanee used to have the ball. He thrilled the Swansea fans is a big understatement.

Swansea’s loss, Bournemouth’s gain?

However, Swansea’s loss is now Bournemouth’s gain. Laird’s arrival will make Parker’s side stronger. The promotion chasers are currently three points clear at the top of the Championship table.

The Cherries play in a 4-3-3 and love to attack throughout the game. They love to encourage their fullbacks forward and Laird must be licking his lips, seeing the setup in place for him.

This opportunity also provides him with a chance to add silverware to his CV. Winning the championship will be a huge moment for the youngster.

Reece James: Best example of loan system?

When we hear the name Reece James, flying runs and magical crosses come to mind. However, it was not all rosy for the youngster.

The England international spent the whole of the 2018/19 campaign on loan. He proved himself at Wigan Athletic by making 46 appearances in all competitions.

James’ time in the championship helped him become the star he is now and Manchester United will be hoping for the same for Laird.

Since moving back to Stamford Bridge after his loan spell, he hasn’t looked back. James has been a regular ever since and has made 109 appearances for the Blues. He was Lampard’s pride and now Tuchel’s delight.
