Wijnaldum Wants a Return to the Premier League

Arsenal News: Former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum joined Paris Saint-Germain in the 2021 summer transfer window. But the midfielder is reportedly unhappy and wants a return to the Premier League.
Mikel Arteta has been scouting for a central midfielder since the start of the summer transfer window. Arsenal is short on personnel after Maitland-Niles and Kolasinac left the club in January.
Hence, Arsenal has approached Burno Guimaraes and Arthur Melo for a potential transfer in the month. Though Bruno Guimaraes looks unlikely to leave, for now, talks with Arthur are said to have reached an advanced stage.
In case the deal falls through with Arthur Melo, Arsenal could find a savior in Georginio Wijnaldum. The former Gunners target wants a return to the Premier League and could help solve the midfield problems of Mikel Arteta.
Can Georginio Wijnaldum join Arsenal in January?
As per ESPN, Wijnaldum is looking to leave Paris Saint-Germain just 6 months after joining them. Owing to this, The Dutchman reportedly prefers a move to the Premier League in January itself.
Ginny Wijnaldum has not had the best of seasons for PSG as he has struggled to cement his place in the playing XI. The 31-year old has started 11 Ligue 1 games for Paris Saint-Germain. In this, the midfielder has scored 1 goal and provided 2 assists to his teammates.
Hence the Dutchman wants a return back to the Premier League. Wijnaldum is best known for representing Liverpool in the Premier League and helping the Reds to win the 2019/20 league title. To add to this, he has also played for Newcastle United.
Even though Georginio Wijnaldum is so closely associated with Liverpool, he does not want a return to Merseyside. Instead, the report suggests that the midfielder would rather go to North London.
As per the report, Wijnaldum has admired Arsenal since he was a boy. And with the North London club desperate to sign a midfielder, it could be fruitful for both Georginio Wijnaldum and Arsenal if the transfer takes place.
But Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly not interested in letting the Dutchman leave mid-season as they don’t have a replacement. Also, it seems unlikely that Wijnaldum will approach the PSG board with a transfer request for now.
Will Wijnaldum be a good pick for the Gunners
Though it looks unlikely to happen in January, Wijnaldum will certainly suit the Gunners. The midfielder has made 237 appearances for Liverpool and 40 appearances for Newcastle United. Hence he certainly has enough experience in English football.
Arsenal could certainly try signing Georginio Wijnaldum in the summer. But there is a chance that midfielder would choose to sign for the Gunners only if they secure UEFA Champions League football this season.

Ornestein announces Tielemans is keen on Arsenal move

David Ornestein has told Mikel Arteta that Youri Tielemans is keen on a move to Arsenal – after the Gunners boss reportedly requested the signing if the Leicester star
With all the reports that Mikel Arteta is a man that knows he needs to add a bit more Premier League quality to the squad in the transfer window, there has been alot of speculation about players that could be arriving at the club
Tielemans is expected to leave Leicester City this summer when he will have just a year remaining on his current contract, and Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs who have been linked with a move
And according to recent reports – there is growing confidence from the player’s camp and the Emirates club that Tielemans will be an Arsenal player next season.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta wants to boost the quality and depth of his midfield options this summer, and Tielemans would be an upgrade on both Granit Xhaka, whose future at the Emirates is uncertain, and Mohamed Elneny, with his contract expiring this summer.
Recent reports have claimed that Arteta is pushing his board to submit a £25m bid for the midfielder in hope that he can win the race for the star
Now – Ornestein has told the Athletic that Tielemans is very much interested in signing a deal to make the move to London
Manchester United and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the Belgium international but it is claimed that a move to the Emirates is one that Tielemans is most interested in
IcFootballnews View…
Over the last two seasons, the Belgian has played a significant part in the Foxes’ successive fifth place finishes and is one of the best attacking midfielders in the English game
He is ready for that big move – and he could be a very good addition to the Gunners squad – especially for the money that is being talked about
£25 million is not alot of money for a quality player like Tielemans is it?

Manchester City Look Unstoppable For Third Consecutive Title
After some final day heroics from Pep Guardiola’s side reminiscent to Sergio Aguero’s stoppage time winner to seal the title in 2012, Manchester City enter the market as 4/7 favourites to retain their Premier League crown next season.
Having already secured the signature of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for a £51m fee, City have filled a considerable gap up front after failing to sign a striker last summer – unsuccessful in their pursuits of Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United are poised to spend big this summer as the Erik ten Hag era gets underway at Old Trafford, with Jurrien Timber a reported target for the former Ajax boss.
Liverpool couldn’t believe their luck on Sunday when Philippe Coutinho put Aston Villa 2-0 up at the Etihad and looked set for a record-equalling 20th league title, only for Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan to spoil the party.
Chelsea will aim to bounce back under new ownership following a disappointing season including two cup final defeats, and are 16/1 to win the league next season.

Arsenal confirms Elneny has agreed new deal

Mohamed Elneny has announced his pure delight that he has agreed a new contract with Arsenal
The Egyptian star has found game time hard to come by this season and has had to watch the games from the bench, but he has played a key role in the run in of the Premier League season
The injury to Thomas Partey has offered Elneny the chance to shine, and with reports suggesting that Mikel Arteta will not want to lose many more players in the transfer window, Elneny was ready to sign a new deal with the Gunners
And soon after the season has finished – Arsenal have come out and announced that Elneny has agreed a new contract at the Emirates – although they have not divulged the duration of the contract signed.
“Midfielder Mohamed [Elneny] is extending his stay with us,” Arsenal revealed on their official website. “Elneny has been a key member of the squad since joining us from Basel in 2016. He’s made 147 appearances, scoring five goals and contributing 10 assists.”
Here is what Elneny said:
“I feel like when you play in one of the biggest teams in the world and you have an amazing family and the fans are really amazing as well – they make me feel special,” Elneny told the same portal.
“You feel like you are special for this club and this club is special for you. Of course, I want to stay here until I finish my career actually.”
“I needed to hear what he’s thinking about me and I always say to him, ‘Mikel, I really appreciate what you’ve done for me.’
“Because with Mikel I play more than I was before. I said to him, ‘Mikel, if you say to me that you want me to stay or you want me to leave, I’m going to do whatever you want.’
“Then the way he spoke about me is something that really makes me emotional.
“It was really good for me to hear it from Mikel, about the way I play and the way I’m happy with him and being positive. It’s incredible for me to feel this way from Mikel, from the club, and from Edu. I’m really happy.”

Elneny may not be the most glamourous of players – but fans will surely be hoping that this does not mean no new midfielders will be signed
