Watkins Balogun and Bissouma feature in Arsenal roundup 13th January

Arsenal get Balogun deal done, Arsenal in talks to sign Watkins and Bissouma message sent in Arsenal roundup…

Darren Bent has urged Arsenal to go out and sign Yves Bissouma this January transfer window

Mikel Arteta has made it clear that he wants to strengthen his midfield options before the end of the January transfer window in order to keep the good start to the new season going.

The Gunners were not tipped to get back into that top four this season, but a good start to the year has meant that they will be one of the favourites to get Champions League football next season, if they add a few more players this month

Arsenal’s lack of options in midfield have been exposed in recent weeks with Granit Xhaka and summer signing Albert Sambi Lokonga currently Mikel Arteta’s only senior options, as Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny after both at the African Cup of Nations, along with Bissouma

But once the competition finishes, Bent would relish the chance to see the Brighton man head to north London where he believes he can form a fearsome partnership with Partey: ‘I would like to see Arsenal go and get Yves Bissouma from Brighton,” he said on talkSPORT.

‘I really like him, I think he’s a top, top player. I think he’s gettable as well.

‘Him and Partey in the middle of the park, that is what you call protection in front of the back four by the way.

‘You let the likes of [Emile] Smith Rowe, [Martin] Odegaard bomb forward.

‘If you can Yves Bissouma, I think he can turn into a top player in this league, I really do. I really like him.

‘He’s one of those players that can be box-to-box but if you ask him to sit there, he’s comfortable in possession. Yeah he’s a top player.’

This potential deal is all about money, so if Arsenal are ready to pay £50 million to secure a transfer deal for Bissouma, yes he would be a brilliant signing for the club

Middlesborough coach Chris Wilder has admitted his delight that Florian Balogun has agreed a move from Arsenal

The 20-year-old striker has not featured in the Premier League since August but remains a part of Arsenal’s long-term plans and signed a new contract in April which ties him to the club until 2025.

Balogun was also the subject of interest from Europe, with French Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne among the clubs who were monitoring his situation.

But in the end, it was Boro who managed to complete a January deal for the talented young man and Wilder, who previously tried to sign him for his former club Sheffield United, was pleased that the Arsenal man has signed for his current club.

“We’re delighted to get Flo in. He’s a player I’ve known about for a long time, and we identified him as someone who could come in and improve us in the second half of the season.

He continued, “He has great movement, good pace, and he’s a natural finisher. We’re looking forward to working with him.”

Balogun underwent a medical on Tuesday ahead of finalsing his move to the Championship side, who will pay a portion of his wages.

Wilder will now hope that his new recruit pushes them into the play-off positions of the Championship. And the Gunners will be hoping that Balogun gets the game time he needs to help with his development.

Reports have claimed that Arsenal are now in talks to bring Ollie Watkins to the Emirates this transfer window.

Centre-forwards Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette are into the final six months of their contracts at the Emirates Stadium whilst fellow-frontman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club remains in doubt.

That has led to many reports in the media that Arsenal will be in need of adding a striker to the squad over the next few weeks in order to bolster their chances of getting back inside that top four spot.

And According to ESPN, head coach Mikel Arteta is a huge fan of Watkins, with the Spaniard reportedly impressed by the Villa star’s versatility to play across the frontline

The report said: “Arteta and Arsenal’s recruitment team are planning for life without Aubameyang and have a range of options that they are considering.

“Among them is Watkins, who joined Villa for £27.7m from Brentford last summer and has scored 18 league goals in 51 appearances for the club. Sources said Arteta is a fan of Watkins’ playing style and his ability to play in a number of different roles in attack.

“There has been no direct contact between Arsenal and Aston Villa over Watkins, and sources said a switch in January would be highly unlikely, but the 25-year-old will be monitored ahead of a summer move.”

IcFootballnews View…

If the reports are true and Arsenal have started to make their move to try and get a transfer deal done for Watkins, it would be a very smart move to make from the Gunners.

However, there has been no indication that Watkins wants to leave Villa, especially as they are looking like a club that are showing alot of ambition.

He would be a great signing for Arsenal, but we cant see this one happening.

Sanches Vlahovic and Calvert-Lewin feature in Arsenal roundup

Vlahovic deadline set, Arsenal told Calvert-Lewin price and Sanches opens door to transfer deal in Arsenal roundup…

Reports have claimed that Everton will allow Arsenal target Dominic Calvert-Lewin to leave the club for £60 million.

Arsenal are set to be in the market for a new striker at the end of the season with Alexandre Lacazette’s contract set to expire, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s future at the club is in major doubt after he was stripped of the captaincy

That has led to many reports in the media that the Gunners would like to add Dusan Vlahovic to the attack, but with Fiorentina valuing the player much higher than what the Arsenal want to pay, they are not close to any sort of deal.

But with the fact that Mikel Arteta needs to add a new striker to the attack, there may be a chance to wrap up a transfer deal for Premier League star Calvert-Lewin this transfer window

Calvert-Lewin’s season has been dogged by injury but he is still seen as one of the brightest young English strikers around, and according to reports in the media, The Toffees will allow the big man to leave the club for a fee of £60 million

The Merseyside club have also considered selling England keeper Jordan Pickford but are now in talks with him about extending and increasing his contract.

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon recently opened up and admitted that he is hoping the club push to try and sign the powerful striker: ‘Would I like to see Calvert-Lewin at Arsenal? I think yes. I think you’d struggle to get one of the top, top strikers like [Erling] Haaland,’ Dixon told MailOnline.

‘It would be a step up for Calvert-Lewin, no disrespect to Everton.

‘I like him, I think he’s got potential to be as good as he wants to be. He is fit and athletic, he is strong and good in the air and a good finisher. I would take him.’

IcFootballnews view…

Calvert-lewin has the potential to play for one of the top clubs in the Premier League, and we could actually see him banging in quite a few goals in that Arsenal squad.

There is no doubt that Arteta is building something at the Arsenal and if the board want to challenge for that Premier League title once again, then big money signings are the way to go.

We are just not sure that DCL is the player to replace the likes of Aubameyang

Former Arsenal playmaker Paul Merson believes Arsenal ‘need’ to bring in a new striker, with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang unlikely to play for the club again as a deadline for the services of Dusan Vlahovic have been set

Vlahovic is under contract with the Viola until 2023 but is applying pressure on the Serie A outfit to sell by so far refusing to agree to an extension.

That has led the Gunners to submit an offer of £66m and make him their second-highest earner as they try to find a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as well as soon-to-be free agents Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah.

But the north Londoners are also growing frustrated by the long-running saga and La Republicca reports they have demanded an answer from the striker by ‘halfway through next week

However, amid the speculation, Merson believes a forward needs to be recruited in to replace Aubameyang, who looks set to depart the club,, sooner rather than later.

He said: “You’ve got to get someone in. Arsenal need a centre forward badly next season. No [can’t see him playing again for Arsenal] not for me. I think Arteta has already laid that one out, he’s chopped his nose off there.

“He’s hung him out there to dry, it’s going to be some going by the lad to come back. It could do [impact top four hopes].

“Not saying Aubameyang is going to get them in the top four though but they do need a centre forward.

“Aubameyang on form could get them there. I always think pick your best players but what’s gone on between the pair of them the manager and him needs to be sorted out first.”

There has been many reports about the possible arrival of Vlahovic, so why are the Gunners taking so long to try and get a deal done when they need the player?

Renato Sanches has admitted he is ready to join Arsenal when the offer arrives

Now, we have spoken a number of times about the reports that Mikel Arteta is keen to delve into that transfer kitty and add a few players to the squad in order to get them back into winning that Premier League title

And that has led to many reports in the media that the Gunners boss will be backed in the transfer window, especially after the brilliant run they put together this season.

Sanches moved to Lille following a disappointing three-season spell at Bayern Munich where he struggled to live up to the hype as well as a number of injury problems

But he has impressed over in France has his performances has led to many reports in the media that the Gunners are very much interested in getting a transfer deal done this transfer window.

And now, amid the specilation, Lilles Renato Sanches, has made it very clear that he is ready and waiting for a deal to be done.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Sanches said: “Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested but I don’t know. I spoke with my agent, I know which clubs are calling me but I can’t say right now. But I know I’m ready. If an offer comes in, I’ll find out what’s best for me.”

IcFootballnews View….

Look, Sanches does have real quality that is just sitting there ready for his potential new manager to get out of him, and that is what Arteta could do.

The Gunners boss needs a player like the Portuguese International in the squad, so if the reports are true and Arsenal are interested in a transfer deal for the young man, he could be a very good signing for the club to sign in the next couple of windows

So even though Sanches has not fulfilled his true potential yet, there is no doubt about his ability, and he just needs the right manager to help him reach it

As we said, he could be a great signing, for the right money

No hopes left for a trophy this season

Arsenal News: Arsenal’s last hope for a trophy this season got destroyed after their 0-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Semi-final. The Reds at the Emirates Stadium. Diogo Jota scored both the goals for Liverpool and secured a spot for them in the Finals.

The Gunners have lost every match this season when they’ve fallen behind. In the Carabao Cup Semi-final, once Diogo Jota opened the scoring in the first half, Arsenal never looked like they will get back in the game. After such a start, the strategy should be to play aggressively and get everyone to fire.

According to Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke: “Arsenal Played with a little bit of fear. They were worried about losing the tie by half-time and they dropped back, which just allowed Liverpool to control the game and the Gunners didn’t lay a glove on them.”

The stats of this season suggest that Arsenal have failed to come back from a 1-0 behind position six times this season. The thing which is more concerning for the Gunners is that they have been behind by 1-0 only six times. This means that they have not been able to come back from a 1-0 situation in any of the matches they played this season.

Arsenal News: Situation of Arsenal under Arteta

Mikel Arteta started well as an Arsenal manager. He led the team to an FA Cup victory in 2019. The team’s performance graph has reduced quite a bit since their FA Cup triumph.

According to Trevor Sinclair, Arsenal’s situation is no better than under Unai Emery. Keeping Arteta’s FA Cup win aside, the Gunners have not improved at all.

“It’s great to have young players in the team, especially boys you’ve developed in the academy, but as a team and threat to major titles, to the top four, I don’t think they’ve improved at all,” said Trevor Sinclair.

One of the biggest upsets for Arsenal this season has been the 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. Arteta’s men are currently residing at the 6th position in the Premier League, which means Carabao Cup was their last hope for a trophy.

Arsenal’s hope for future

The Gunners have not been a part of the Champions League since 2017. A record that is very unlikely for this type of team. Although it is unlikely to say that they haven’t improved under Arteta. They have shown some grit in this season’s Premier League, going up to 6th position from the 19th position.

However, the team’s performance has not been up to the mark. The team requires some changes in their mentality, temperament, and attitude. The team needs to be more aggressive after a setback and has to change its defensive attitude.

Arteta will be hoping for his team to secure a top 4 spot in the Premier League which can give them a spot in next season’s Champions League. For this, they need to keep winning games.

As of now, their hopes for a trophy this season is finished and now they need to focus on getting a top 4 spot in the Premier League. Arteta and their men will have to play hard to achieve their goal.

Kieran Tierney wants Champions League spot for Arsenal

Arsenal News: Arsenal has not seen their best form in recent years. The team has not played the Champions League from the last 5 seasons. A record they would not like to have. The Gunner’s last match in the Champions League came back in March 2017 in the form of a heavy thrashing by Bayern Munich. They lost the match 5-1 to the Bavarian Giants.

Arsenal center-back Kieran Tierney is on a mission to help the Gunners play the Champions League in the next season. The center-back would love to secure a spot in the top 4 for Arsenal that would get them in the Champions League.

In an interview, the Scottish defender said that securing a position in the top 4 will be good progress. It is something that the Gunners would like to build on. But it is also something that they should take game by game. Tierney said that if they go on runs, they won’t find out what can happen, good or bad.

He mentioned: “As an Arsenal player, you know the standards of the club and you know what the expectations are.”

Arsenal News: The Gunners’ inconsistent performances

The first half of the premier league is already over, and Arsenal is currently at the 6th position. There are games that the team should win to maintain a distance from the clubs under them and even to rise from their position and enter the top 4.

It is going to be a tough time for the Gunners, but these months are the time to do it. Tierney said that this is the part of the season where you set your targets and you know what you need to do. And for now, Arsenal needs to win games.

The last 5 seasons have not been good for Arsenal and they are looking to change things around. Manager Mikel Arteta and their squad is keeping up with the points table quite well as they did not start on a positive note.

The Gunners have struggled with their performance this season. They are out of the Carabao Cup after losing to Liverpool in the semi-finals. Arsenal also faced a huge upset as they were defeated by Nottingham Forest in the 3rd round of the FA Cup.

What will Arsenal hope in the future?

Arsenal will hope that they can make it to the top 4 of the Premier League. The standard of football they have played through the generations, they will hope to regain that prestige.

The Gunners will be willing to regain their position in the top 4 which they lost to Manchester United. They are currently just behind Tottenham in the 6th position and will be expecting to get up in the standings.

Arteta’s Arsenal has shown good caliber in this season. With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Emile Smith Rowe, and Bukayo Saka, they have risen to 6th position from 19th.

Arsenal will be hoping to regain their former legacy. A legacy left by the likes of Thierry Henry, Rob Van Persie, and their Manager Mikel Arteta. This season is one of the seasons which can change things around the Arsenal dugout.
