Vlahovic Melo and Turner feature in Arsenal roundup

Arsenal get Vlahovic boost, Arsenal sent message about Turner and Arteta has update after Melo offer in Arsenal roundup…
Arsenal transfer target Matt Turner is as good as any goalkeeper in the Premier League, according to his coach Kevin Hitchcock
Bernd Leno is understandably keen on playing more football after being usurped as Arsenal’s No 1 by Aaron Ramsdale, and that has led to many reports in the media which have suggested that he could leave the club this transfer window
And if the German was to leave, Turner appears to be their top target to replace him, with reports suggesting that the Gunners board have already made an offer to bring him to the Premier League.
And It could be a masterstroke from Mikel Arteta if Hitchcock’s comments are anything to go by, Speaking on a feature produced by NBC Sports Boston, Hitchcock has no doubt Turner has the quality to not only play in the Premier League, but also match the performances of each top goalkeeper in the division.
“Like I said to the people here, he can play Premier League easily,” Hitchcock said.
“I’ve worked with a lot of top Premier League goalkeepers, and he’s up there with the top three I’ve worked with.
“I know at this moment, he is as good as any top Premier League goalkeeper.”

Ramsdale is a brilliant stopper that is easily the number one at the Emirates, so the Gunners do not need to splash alot of cash and bring in somebody that could upset the dynamics at the Emirates
Turner will have alot to prove at the club, but he has been impressing and the Gunners clearly see something in him which will make them believe he is the ideal man to replace Leno if he leaves the club
This will be a massive step up though, and surely a dream move for the man to make if it happens
Mikel Arteta is unsure if Arsenal will be able bring in new signings before the January transfer window closes, with reports they have agreed personal terms with Arthur Melo
It is no secret that Mikel Arteta NEEDS to strengthen his Arsenal squad over the course of the transfer window as a number of injuries and Covid-19 outbreaks have devastated his Gunners squad.
That has led to many reports that he will look to improve the squad and add another defender, midfielder and striker to the attack in order to keep in that chase to get back inside the top sour spots
The Gunners have also held talks with Arthur’s agent and are keen to sign the 25-year-old on loan before the January transfer window closes.
Arthur has already agreed personal terms, according to reports, with Arsenal and wants to make the move to the Premier League for the rest of the season in order to test himself in English football and try to reignite his career.
Juventus, however, have been reluctant to give the deal the green light without bringing in a replacement.
But speaking after the goalless draw with Burnley on Sunday, Arteta indicated the club are no closer to making additions to the squad.
‘In this market things are complicated,’ Arteta told BBC
He added in his post-match press conference: ‘Well we are certainly trying but I don’t know if we are going to be able to do it. Let’s see.
‘It was what we planned but the market is difficult. It’s a lot to manage and we have to make the right decisions with players that we believe are going to help us.’

All these top players linked with a move to the Emirates and so many fans getting excited about possible deals, but again, Arsenal just take too long and end up missing out
Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly ignoring Fiorentina’s calls after Arsenal’s reported £50.1million bid for the player.
Now it is no secret that Mikel Arteta needs to add a new striker to that attack of his as he does not have the squad to get back inside those Champions League places by the end of the seasons
Fans know all the troubles that Arteta is having with his strikers, and that has led to many reports in the media that a deal for Vlahovic is the Gunners number one priority this window.
The big striker is regarded as one of the best in Europe right now and is currently the top scorer in Seria A, with his performances alerting a number of top clubs to his services
Now after reports the Gunners submitted a £50 million offer to get a transfer deal done, Viola’s CEO Joe Barrone has accused Vlahovic and his representatives of refusing contact with him and the club.
Barone told DAZN: “We’ve not received any official bid for Vlahovic as things stand.
“We’re open to discuss and negotiate – but we want Vlahovic and his agent to be clear on the future, as they’re not answering. We need to talk about it.
“[We want] Clarity from the player and his entourage. Fiorentina have a future, a group, a support and a city that must focus on this season
“I would like to talk about Fiorentina because Fiorentina plays and I want to talk about the group that deserves everything that is happening, starting with the club.
“Every day we talk about Vlahovic. On this issue Fiorentina has not received any offers. We are open to everything but we want clarity.”

Vlahovic is a classy player that has already netted an impressive 17 goals, and he would be a seriously brilliant signing for Arsenal if they are able to get a deal done

Ornestein announces Tielemans is keen on Arsenal move

David Ornestein has told Mikel Arteta that Youri Tielemans is keen on a move to Arsenal – after the Gunners boss reportedly requested the signing if the Leicester star
With all the reports that Mikel Arteta is a man that knows he needs to add a bit more Premier League quality to the squad in the transfer window, there has been alot of speculation about players that could be arriving at the club
Tielemans is expected to leave Leicester City this summer when he will have just a year remaining on his current contract, and Arsenal are among the Premier League clubs who have been linked with a move
And according to recent reports – there is growing confidence from the player’s camp and the Emirates club that Tielemans will be an Arsenal player next season.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta wants to boost the quality and depth of his midfield options this summer, and Tielemans would be an upgrade on both Granit Xhaka, whose future at the Emirates is uncertain, and Mohamed Elneny, with his contract expiring this summer.
Recent reports have claimed that Arteta is pushing his board to submit a £25m bid for the midfielder in hope that he can win the race for the star
Now – Ornestein has told the Athletic that Tielemans is very much interested in signing a deal to make the move to London
Manchester United and Real Madrid are also said to be interested in the Belgium international but it is claimed that a move to the Emirates is one that Tielemans is most interested in
IcFootballnews View…
Over the last two seasons, the Belgian has played a significant part in the Foxes’ successive fifth place finishes and is one of the best attacking midfielders in the English game
He is ready for that big move – and he could be a very good addition to the Gunners squad – especially for the money that is being talked about
£25 million is not alot of money for a quality player like Tielemans is it?

Manchester City Look Unstoppable For Third Consecutive Title
After some final day heroics from Pep Guardiola’s side reminiscent to Sergio Aguero’s stoppage time winner to seal the title in 2012, Manchester City enter the market as 4/7 favourites to retain their Premier League crown next season.
Having already secured the signature of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for a £51m fee, City have filled a considerable gap up front after failing to sign a striker last summer – unsuccessful in their pursuits of Harry Kane and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Manchester United are poised to spend big this summer as the Erik ten Hag era gets underway at Old Trafford, with Jurrien Timber a reported target for the former Ajax boss.
Liverpool couldn’t believe their luck on Sunday when Philippe Coutinho put Aston Villa 2-0 up at the Etihad and looked set for a record-equalling 20th league title, only for Rodri and Ilkay Gundogan to spoil the party.
Chelsea will aim to bounce back under new ownership following a disappointing season including two cup final defeats, and are 16/1 to win the league next season.

Arsenal confirms Elneny has agreed new deal

Mohamed Elneny has announced his pure delight that he has agreed a new contract with Arsenal
The Egyptian star has found game time hard to come by this season and has had to watch the games from the bench, but he has played a key role in the run in of the Premier League season
The injury to Thomas Partey has offered Elneny the chance to shine, and with reports suggesting that Mikel Arteta will not want to lose many more players in the transfer window, Elneny was ready to sign a new deal with the Gunners
And soon after the season has finished – Arsenal have come out and announced that Elneny has agreed a new contract at the Emirates – although they have not divulged the duration of the contract signed.
“Midfielder Mohamed [Elneny] is extending his stay with us,” Arsenal revealed on their official website. “Elneny has been a key member of the squad since joining us from Basel in 2016. He’s made 147 appearances, scoring five goals and contributing 10 assists.”
Here is what Elneny said:
“I feel like when you play in one of the biggest teams in the world and you have an amazing family and the fans are really amazing as well – they make me feel special,” Elneny told the same portal.
“You feel like you are special for this club and this club is special for you. Of course, I want to stay here until I finish my career actually.”
“I needed to hear what he’s thinking about me and I always say to him, ‘Mikel, I really appreciate what you’ve done for me.’
“Because with Mikel I play more than I was before. I said to him, ‘Mikel, if you say to me that you want me to stay or you want me to leave, I’m going to do whatever you want.’
“Then the way he spoke about me is something that really makes me emotional.
“It was really good for me to hear it from Mikel, about the way I play and the way I’m happy with him and being positive. It’s incredible for me to feel this way from Mikel, from the club, and from Edu. I’m really happy.”

Elneny may not be the most glamourous of players – but fans will surely be hoping that this does not mean no new midfielders will be signed
