Ray Parlour warns Arsenal about Bukayo Saka’s future

Arsenal News: Bukayo Saka has been an exciting new revelation for the Gunners. But Ray Parlour has warned the club that Manchester City and other big clubs could be coming for the player.

The youngsters have played a big part in helping Mikel Arteta this season. Owing to this, Arsenal currently sit in 4th place with 35 points from 20 Premier League games.

Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli have made a telling difference to the Gunners. Together the young trio has scored 18 of the 33 Premier League goals for the Gunners.

Arsenal last competed in the UEFA Champions League in the 2016/17 season. Arsene Wenger was the man in charge of the Gunners back then. Given their current form, Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to give a tough challenge for a top-4 berth this season.

Arsenal News: What did Ray Parlour say about Bukayo Saka?

Ray Parlour talked about Bukayo Saka in an interview that was covered by Football London. In the interview, the former Arsenal defender spoke about Saka’s brilliance but also gave a firm warning to Arsenal.

The former Gunners defender Ray Parlour said “I look at the young team at Arsenal, they can develop and keep improving. But You know what the hardest thing is going to be? It’s keeping the players.”

Parlour warned the Gunners, saying “Saka must be on people’s radar all day long. A big side like Manchester City must be looking at him going into the transfer window.”

Manchester City have picked up a lot of Arsenal players over the last few years. Players like Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna, and Gael Clichy have all switched the Red of Arsenal for the Sky Blue of City.

One of the biggest and controversial transfers over the years has been that of Emmanuel Adebayor. The Togo-based player shifted loyalties in 2009. Adebayor made headlines for his ‘wild celebration’ after scoring against his former club.

Arsenal are certainly improving under Mikel Arteta. But Champions League football could be vital if they are to keep these highly rated youngsters in the squad. It has to be seen if the Gunners can finish in the top-4 at the end of the season.

The Gunners to Sign Empoli’s Midfielder

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are in desperate need of a central midfielder as we go into the last week of the January transfer window. Owing to this, the North London club is targeting Empoli’s Samuele Ricci.

Mikel Arteta made it very clear that Arsenal is lacking personnel in central midfield. And this fact has been evident in recent games for the Gunners.

Arsenal had a horrific month of January. They were out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest in the third round. To add to this, Liverpool added to their woes by beating them in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.

The Gunner’s top 4 hopes were also dashed in the Premier League. A loss to Manchester City and a draw to Burnley has ensured that the Gunners have slipped to 6th in the Premier League table. To add to this, Arsenal is yet to win their first game in 2022.

Arsenal are monitoring Empoli’s Samuele Ricci

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are looking to sign Empoli’s midfielder Samuele Ricci in January

As per CalcioMercato, Arsenal are monitoring Empoli’s 20-year old central midfielder Samuele Ricci. The Gunners want to add a midfielder to their ranks in January. Moreover, they have expressed their interest in Ricci.

Samuele Ricci made his debut for Empoli in Serie B. He played for them in the 2019/20 season. Since then he has been part of the Gli Azzurri. The midfielder also played a primary role in getting them promoted to Serie A last season.

In Serie A, Ricci has again been pivotal for the Empoli side. The central midfielder has made 21 appearances, of which 17 were in the starting XI. To add to this, he has also scored 1 goal and provided 1 assist for the Gli Azzurri this season.

Owing to his performances, Samuele Ricci has been compared to Chelsea’s Jorginho. Though the defensive midfielder is not physical, he has very good technical ability. He can provide brilliant passes.

The Italian Stats are very good for a 20-year old as well. Ricci has averaged 54.8 passes per game and has maintained a 90 percent passing accuracy. To add to this, he also averages 1.6 tackles and 1.5 interceptions per game.

All of this shows a bright future for Samuele Ricci. Also, Mikel Arteta is building a team of youngsters at Arsenal at the moment. Hence, Ricci could be a good fit for his squad for years to come.

Other central midfielders that the Gunners are targetting in January

Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal is reportedly interested in bringing Arthur Melo to the club in January. As per reports, the deal has reached an advanced stage but Juventus are still wanting to keep the Brazilian in their ranks.

Apart from this Bruno Guimaraes and Youri Tielemans have also been linked with the club. Hence it has to be seen if Arsenal could complete a midfield signing in January.

Arsenal stopper Karl Hein officially joins Reading on loan

Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein has joined Reading on loan until the end of the season, it has been announced

Hein, who is yet to play for the Gunners’ first team, is highly-rated by the coaches at the club, but because he is still so young, he is not ready to challenge for a spot in the first-team just yet.

And that meant that Arsenal were looking for potential suitors for Hein, and after weeks of contact, it was Reading that won the race to sign the talented young man on loan

Hein’s arrival comes after the departure of Brazilian Rafael earlier in the month. The 31-year-old had his contract terminated early to allow him to return to his homeland and sign for Cruzeiro.

Hein will now battle Luke Southwood for the no.1 spot at Reading over the final 19 games of the campaign and could make his debut on Saturday against QPR in the Championship.

Reading chief executive Dayong Pang said: “We are delighted to be able to bring Karl [Hein] to Reading.

“At the age of 19 he is an exciting prospect, but most importantly he has already shown himself to be a very capable goalkeeper at full international level and he will add quality to our squad in this crucial period.”

Manager Veljko Paunovic said: “Karl [Hein] is an international goalkeeper with good temperament, obvious ability and the hunger to improve and impress.

“He is a welcome addition to our squad and will increase the strength of our team for our remaining fixtures this season.”

We are massive fans of letting young players go out on loan to get some much needed game time in the first team, so hopefully Hein will get a chance at Reading for the rest of the season and impress enough to potentially get a chance at the Emirates in the future

The Gunners Target Luka Jovic

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are finding it difficult to persuade Dusan Vlahovic to join them in January. Hence they are now looking for a short-term loan move to Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic.

The Gunners have been in pursuit of Dusan Vlahovic since the start of the January transfer window. Owing to this, Arsenal had also placed a bid of €60m. Fiorentina accepted the bid.

But Dusan Vlahovic and his representatives are not very keen on a move to North London. As per the Fiorentina sporting director, Vlahovic’s representatives are not even responding to complete negotiations.

As per reports, Dusan Vlahovic has rather set his heart on a move to Juventus. Owing to this, he could wait until the summer transfer window before joining the Serie A giants.

Could Luka Jovic join Arsenal in January?

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners target Luka Jovic as Dusan Vlahovic prefers moving to Juventus

As per The Sun, It looks likely that Arsenal will not be able to sign Dusan Vlahovic in January. Owing to this, the Gunners are now looking at the possibility of signing his national teammate Luka Jovic from Real Madrid.

The report states that Real Madrid has informed Arsenal that they are willing to let Luka Jovic leave on loan. Hence, helping Arsenal to cater to their short-term attacking crisis.

Real Madrid and Arsenal have shared a good relationship in recent years. Mesut Özil, Martin Ødegaard, and Dani Ceballos have made the switch from Madrid to London in the past.

Luka Jovic has not had the best of times at Real Madrid this season. The Serbian who is behind Karim Benzema in the pecking order has made 11 substitute appearances and has just scored 1 goal for Los Blancos.

Real Madrid had signed Luka Jovic from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt in 2019. The striker had a stellar two seasons in Germany, scoring 36 goals in 75 appearances for Frankfurt.

The Serbian International has not gotten enough chances for Real Madrid. Hence he was sent out on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt last January as well. He scored 4 goals in 18 appearances during his loan spell.

Any other targets for the Gunners?

Apart from Luka Jovic and Dusan Vlahovic, the Gunners have also been interested in Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker had a good 2020/21 season but has failed to replicate his form in this term.

Mikel Arteta himself said recently “Any player that comes in must be able to take us to the next level. We want much better standards than we already have.” Hence it has to be seen who the Gunners would pick in the January transfer window.
