Rangnick facing his first crisis already

Published

Manchester United News: New year, same old problem with Manchester United. The fallen giants are looking into crisis midway through the season. The 20 times English Champions sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in order to see a change in fortunes, but it’s not looking rosy.

Ralf Rangnick, the interim manager, is already feeling the heat as he faces a disgruntled dressing room. It’s not even 10 games under his helm, but the German is already facing a crisis.

The former RB Leipzig manager is facing the same issues as his predecessor. If reports are to be believed, there are already Cliques formed within the United squad.

Manchester United News: What do the reports say?

As many as 11 players are willing to leave the club if a close source is to be believed. They are not happy with how things are unfolding for them at the club.

The players feel marginalized the same way under Rangnick as they did under Solskjaer. This has led to an unpleasant atmosphere inside the United dressing room.

It is also believed that the players are not impressed with Rangnick’s tactics and his coaching. The position of Rangnick is also weakened by the fact that the German is here only till the end of the season.

Luke Shaw admitted that United players are disjointed and are not pulling together. The defender made the comments after United lost to Wolves at home.

The source further added that: “The atmosphere is looking very bad right now. If things continue like this, there will be massive problems for the club ahead.”

Which players are unhappy?

The likes of Donny van de Beek, Eric Bailly, and Dean Henderson are some of the players who are very frustrated with not getting a chance under the interim manager.

Rangnick is accused of doing the same things which Solskjaer did, that is picking up favourites. Lingard and Donny are waiting for their first start of the season. Whereas Henderson wants to go out on loan after not being able to dislodge him from the number one spot.

Rangnick wants Henderson to stay. However, the 23-year-old wants to play regularly in order to become the number one for England in this year’s world cup in Qatar.

Eric Bailly is also questioning his future at the club. The defender feels he should play more than enough since United defensive woes are for everyone to see.

The feeling of being robbed of showcasing their talents is hampering the unity and harmony of the dressing room.

Even the ex-United captain Gary Neville was vocal about the divisions in the squad. He talked about the issues that might flare up between Ronaldo and Maguire.

The Portuguese maverick is a frustrated figure because of the display of United on the pitch. The mercurial number 7 will be hoping that things change around quickly and United can start winning.

Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick could allow some of the squad’s fringe players to leave in the final week of the January transfer window.

The German recently revealed that some players within the squad are unhappy with the game time they’re getting, with the manager explaining the number of wide players is one of the issues.

This season in the Premier League, teams are allowed to name nine substitutes on the bench and this could be a reason why so many players were kept in the squad during the Covid-19 situation.

Only three can be substituted onto the pitch per game meaning there will be quite a few players who will still miss out.

ESPN claims inside knowledge of five players who want to leave either on loan or a permanent deal this month.

“Sources have told ESPN that Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard, Donny van de Beek, Eric Bailly and Dean Henderson are among the players interested in moving in a bid to find more regular first team football,” the outlet claims.

The list is very much in keeping with previous reports about a number of players who want a move away from the club after struggling to find minutes on the pitch since the interim manager’s arrival.

Martial has been linked with a number of clubs including Juventus and Sevilla.

As reported here this morning, Newcastle United are keen to snap up Lingard.

Van de Beek has also attracted the attention of a number of clubs, including Borussia Dortmund.

Bailly, currently on international duty with the Ivory Coast, has been linked with AC Milan.

And Backup keeper Henderson has also been reported to be very unhappy with his current situation after only starting twice this season.

Rangnick spoke to the club media about the current situation where he confirmed he knows which players want an exit away from Old Trafford.

“I don’t know [what’s going to happen], I know which players would want to leave,” said Rangnick.”

“I know that there are some negotiations with clubs but I am not involved in that. I will probably be posted and made aware if something is happening.

“We will all have to wait and see what happens.”

Rangnick will not want to lose too many of the current squad as United are set to battle with the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, West Ham, Chelsea and Wolves for a position in the top four.

Dean Henderson is prepared to stay at Manchester United for the rest of the season – Man United News And Transfer News

Dean Henderson is prepared to stay at Manchester United beyond the January transfer market after Ralf Rangnick declined his request to leave.

It was recently reported that the goalkeeper was unhappy with the minutes on the pitch he was getting and wanted to leave on loan because of David De Gea‘s immovability in goal.

The form of De Gea this season has stopped the Englishman from taking over the number one spot.

Last season, it was a different story, with Henderson taking over the starting position because the Spaniard was out of form.

This was expected to continue, but Henderson was hit by long Covid as 2021-22 began and this is when De Gea’s form lit the sky.

He hasn’t had a bad performance since.

According to The Daily Mail, Henderson is prepared to stay at the club until the end of the season after Rangnick explained to him that he didn’t want him to leave.

Despite not starting in cup competitions, the goalkeeper is now willing to stay beyond the January transfer window.

He would want reassurances in the summer as his priority will be going to Qatar to compete in the upcoming World Cup.

Last week, Man United’s interim manager Rangnick confirmed that he held talks with the 24-year-old about a potential January loan exit but the German boss confirmed that he was going to stay at the club.

Henderson hasn’t managed to receive a call-up to the England national team since the European Championships.

Even then, he couldn’t compete due to an injury that forced him to return to Carrington before the competition had begun.

It’s a frustrating time for the out-of-favour goalkeeper, who hasn’t put a foot wrong on the pitch in recent seasons.

United fans will be hoping for the very best for such a talented young goalkeeper.

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick says he wants Donny van de Beek and Dean Henderson to stay at the club for the rest of this season but that both would like to get game time.

Speaking at today’s press conference ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Villa Park to play Aston Villa, the manager said:

‘I told [Henderson] that I’d like him to stay because he’s a fantastic goalkeeper.

‘Yesterday in training he made a couple of fantastic saves, I’d really like to have him on board as one of three top goalkeepers that we have.

‘I fully understand he wants to play because he’s at an age where as a goalkeeper you should regularly play, but on the other hand we’re still in three competitions so we need the two or three goalkeepers we have right now.

‘I told him that.’

‘[Donny] is the same situation as it is with Dean.

‘I’m glad to have him in the squad. He came on for the last 15-20 minutes in the cup game and did well.

‘He’s always performing at a high level in training.

‘For him I had a conversation with him a couple of weeks ago.

‘I advised him to stay until the end of the season.

‘And then of course with the World Cup coming up in the winter he wants to play World Cup for his country, and Louis van Gaal told him to be a regular starter in the World Cup, he needs to regularly play for his team.

‘We have a lot of competition in our squad in those positions.’

The manager’s words suggested that he was not insisting that either player stays, leaving the door open for a January move.

Rangnick also confirmed that both Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo should be available for tomorrow’s game.

‘I think they will be available,’ he said.

‘They only trained yesterday for the first time, Cristiano trained today, Harry I think the day before yesterday

‘So as it seems now, we have to wait for the final training session this afternoon but they should be available for tomorrow.
