The visitors are in 19th place in the Serie A table and are low on morale. They have not won any of their last 4 games. The most worrisome stat for the Genoa faithful would be the fact that the club has not won any of their last 9 away games.

The Rossoneri would be without Pizzari, Romagnoli, Calabria, Kjaer, Pellegri, Tatarusanu, and Castillego owing to Covid and injuries. Ballo, Kessie, and Bennacer are on international duty and won’t be available as well. The rest of the Milan squad should be available to play against Genoa.

Brahim Diaz (AC Milan):

Mattia Destro (Genoa):

AC Milan make first contact for Manchester United’s Eric Bailly – Man United News And Transfer News

AC Milan are reportedly working on signing a new centre-back, with Manchester United’s Eric Bailly high on the priority list.

The Peoples Person reported the news a couple of days back when a number of Premier League centre-backs had been scouted ahead of a potential move to the club.

Bailly is reported to be unhappy with how many minutes he is getting on the pitch since he signed a new contract last April.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Bailly is the most feasible option ahead of a potential move this January.

The centre-back is currently away on international duty competing in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Man United were left short of centre-back options, with Harry Maguire and Phil Jones on the sidelines with minor injuries.

Raphael Varane hasn’t had the best of seasons in terms of injuries either, so losing a centre-back to another club would be risky at this stage.

However, Bailly could push for a move as he could replace the injured Milan star Simon Kjaer, who is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the first approach has started for the player but nothing has advanced as of now.

He said on Twitter, “AC Milan are working to sign a new centre back. Eric Bailly, one of the names in the list – first approaches started for Man Utd player. Nothing advanced yet.”

The other centre-back mentioned who is also an option is Paris Saint-Germain’s Abdou Diallo.

It is not known whether the club will let the player leave midway through a difficult season but the Red Devils do have time to bring in a replacement if Ralf Rangnick decides to let him go.

Romano later tweeted:

Eric Bailly future will be decided soon. AC Milan are interested in him as potential new centre back on loan, talks opened – no final decision has been made yet. 🔴🇨🇮 #ACMilan

Manchester United are waiting for further direct contacts with AC Milan in the coming hours/days.”

Malang Sarr linked with AC Milan move

Chelsea Transfer news: Malang Sarr joined the Blues on a Bosman deal in the summer transfer window of 2020. The French defender spent last season on loan at FC Porto, where he made 8 league appearances before returning to Stamford Bridge at the start of the current season.

The 22-year-old struggled for his game time under Thomas Tuchel this season, making just five appearances in all competitions thus far. He has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent months.

Chelsea Transfer news: AC Milan looking to sign Malang Sarr on loan

According to reports, AC Milan are showing interest in signing Chelsea defender Malang Sarr. The Italian club are looking to sign the French defender on a loan deal for the rest of the season.

The Rossoneri are currently in the transfer market for a new centre back after losing Simon Kjaer due to an ACL injury last month. The Denmark international is unlikely to play again this season.

Chelsea news: Malang Sarr linked with AC Milan move

Milan have identified Lille’s Sven Botman as their primary target, but the French club are reluctant to sell Botman. They are hence exploring alternative options to the Dutch defender and have shortlisted Sarr for a potential loan deal. Manchester City’s Nathan Aké and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly are other options they are considering signing on loan this month.

Apart from AC Milan, Watford, AS Roma, Watford, and Torino have also shown interest in signing Sarr recently. However, the Blues are lined up for a busy fixture schedule ahead, coupled with injuries to several key defenders. The London-based club might decide against selling or loaning Sarr this window.

Thomas Tuchel praised Malang Sarr for his recent performances

Malang Sarr featured in the Blues’ last two games against Tottenham and Chesterfield FC, respectively. He impressed in both games which drove praise from manager Thomas Tuchel.

Speaking to Chelsea TV, Tuchel said: “He played a good match again (against Tottenham), very good. Very happy that he did so. When we needed him, relied on him, he was reliable and he was there. Very good. He knows his role very clear.”

“He appreciates to be in the team and when is necessary he steps up and shows he can be a strong teammate and player.”

What’s next?

The Blues have recorded victories in their last two cup games against Tottenham and Chesterfield FC, respectively. They will next play Spurs in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-finals prior to tussling against Manchester City in a league game on January 15.

Meanwhile, AC Milan are second in the Serie A table with 48 points from 21 games. They will next play Genoa in Coppa Italia before facing Spezia in the league on January 17.

AC Milan want Eric Bailly

Manchester United News: AC Milan is facing a centre-back crisis. The Italian giants have injury and form issues with their current central defenders. If the reports are to be believed, they are looking at Eric Bailly of Manchester United to solve their crisis.

The San Siro side wants to sign the Ivory Coast international on a loan deal till the end of the season.

The defender is currently on international duty with Ivory Coast for the Africa Cup of Nations. The rumours haven’t stopped, even though he won’t be available for the next two weeks.

Sky Italia (via Sports Mole) has suggested that Milan rate the defender very highly. They think Bailly can be their ideal January signing till the season end.

Manchester United News: Bailly’s career at United.

Eric Bailly joined Manchester United in 2016 from Villarreal. He was the first signing made by Jose Mourinho at the club. The Ivory Coast international has been at the club since 2016 but has made only 70 Premier League appearances in almost six years.

The defender has been hit by injuries since his arrival. The former Villarreal man was rated very highly and United paid a good sum of money, but so far, they haven’t seen the best of him.

The record English champions will be hoping for an injury-free Bailly at the club after his international duties. Varane has just come from an injury while Jones played a game in Premier League after 2 years.

What does the report say?

According to the report, AC Milan is also looking at a few other options. Those names include Manchester City’s Nathan Ake, Arsenal’s Pablo Mari, and Chelsea’s Malang Sarr.

The 27-year-old’s future at United is looking bleak. It had been reported that Bailly is not happy with his playing time even after signing a new deal before the start of the season.

The Espanyol academy graduate has fallen in the pecking order at Old Trafford. He still has more than 2 years left on his contract, but it’s getting very difficult for him to be a starter.

Manchester United News: Bailly’s future is bleak at United?

The Red Devils signed Raphael Varane in the summer, and they have Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, and a returning Phil Jones. The partnership of Varane and Maguire is the first choice, followed by the Swedish captain Lindelof.

Ray of Hope?

The only thing that’s working in favour of Bailly at the club is an injury to his teammates. Harry Maguire is struggling with form and fitness recently. Lindelof suffering from Covid-19. The injuries mean United will need all hands on deck going in the second half of the season.

Whether Bailly makes a move or remains at United, fans would love to see him fit and get a good run of games.
