Arsenal News: The United Kingdom has been battered by a rise of Covid cases since December. Owing to this, Liverpool’s Carabao Cup game against Arsenal has also been postponed.

The Reds were set to face Mikel Arteta’s side for the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on 6th January. But an outbreak of Covid cases in the Liverpool camp has resulted in the game being postponed to a later date.

Manager Jurgen Klopp and several players, including Allison, Matip, and Firmino, have been diagnosed with Covid. Adding to this, Salah, Mane, and Keita have all departed to play in the Africa Cup of Nations. Owing to this, Liverpool had reached out to the English FA to postpone the fixture.

Arsenal themselves are without the services of Elneny, Pepe, Aubameyang, and Partey owing to the African Cup of Nations. Coach Mikel Arteta was also quarantined due to Covid and has just returned.

Arsenal News: Premier League game against Burnley rescheduled after Carabao cup match against Liverpool is postponed

As explained earlier, Arsenal’s Carabao cup fixture against Liverpool has been postponed to a later date. Hence, this has had a domino effect on their Premier League fixture against Burnley.

Arsenal were set to face Burnley on 22nd January (Saturday), 2022. But now the fixture will be played on the 23rd of January at 7:30 pm IST. This has been done to give players enough time to recover.

The rescheduled Carabao Cup fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool will be played on 20th January. Whereas the reverse fixture is going to continue as expected on 13th January 2022.

This means that Arsenal would be at home for the second leg of the tie. But given the continuous rise in the Covid cases, it cannot be ruled out if more fixtures get postponed or rescheduled in the coming days.

Liverpool become the latest club to be affected by Covid

The Merseyside club is the latest European club to have a Covid outbreak in their squad. There has been a significant increase in the number of positive Covid cases in the Liverpool squad in the past 48 hours.

As per reports, Liverpool had a discussion with Public Health Authorities over the increase in cases. Following this, the decision has been made to close the Axa Training Base for at least the next 48 hours.

Fellow Premier League clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Leicester City, etc. have had significant outbreaks in their squads recently. The Premier League has already made the rules more strict for the teams and players.

Spanish giants FC Barcelona and Real Madrid have also suffered the same fate due to Covid. The Bundesliga has already limited the attendance of fans on matchdays and the other leagues could follow suit in the near future.

The Gunners are reportedly preparing a £60m bid for Tielemans

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners management had recently held talks with Youri Tielemans representatives. The North London club are interested in the Leicester City midfielder and will make an official bid in the summer.

Youri Tielemans has been at Leicester City since July 2019. The Belgian has grown a lot as a player since then, owing to which he is one of the fan favorites at the club.

Tielemans has already created history in his current tenure at Leicester City. The Belgian scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Chelsea in the 2020/21 FA Cup final. Hence getting Leicester City the first FA Cup trophy in their history.

But as per the latest reports, Youri Tielemans wants to leave the Foxes at the end of the season. The 24-year reportedly wants to play at a club that can challenge for championships more frequently. Hence, this has drawn interest from other clubs.

Arsenal Transfer News: Club to go all-in for Youri Tielemans?

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are reportedly preparing a £60m bid for Youri Tielemans in the summer as Real Madrid look on

Real Madrid have been linked with Youri Tielemans for the last few months. But as per El Nacional, Arsenal are set to challenge the Spanish Giants to secure Youri Tielemans signature in the summer.

The Belgian playmaker has especially risen to prominence since the last season. Tielemans had an impressive 6 goals and 4 assists as he played all the games in the Premier League for the Foxes. To add to this, the Belgian has already scored 5 goals in the League in the 2021/22 campaign.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers recognizes that Youri Tielemans is a key player. Owing to this, he has made it clear that the Belgian would not be leaving in the January transfer window.

Arsenal reportedly have recognized Youri Tielemans as their primary transfer target in the summer. The Gunners will reportedly make an initial bid of £60m for the Belgian when the transfer window opens in June.

As per reports, the Gunners have been interested in Youri Tielemans for a long time. But they have stepped up their interest in the last few months after news broke out that the Belgian is looking to leave the Foxes.

Mikel Arteta is in need of a creative central midfielder who could dictate play. Currently, Arsenal use Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka in their midfield, but the duo is primarily defensive. Hence, adding Tielemans would add another dynamic to their play.

Real Madrid also want the Belgian playmaker

As stated earlier, Real Madrid have recently been linked with Youri Tielemans. The Spanish Giants reportedly see the Belgian to lead the midfield in the coming seasons.

Both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have been invaluable to the Spanish Giants. But given their age, the duo may not be able to deliver at the same levels in the upcoming seasons. Hence, Florentino Perez is reportedly targeting Tielemans to bolster his midfield as the club looks to return to their glory days.

Adama Traore

Arsenal urged to complete transfer deal for winger Traore

Martin Keown has urged Arsenal to make a move for Wolves star Adama Traore.

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta NEEDS to strengthen his Arsenal squad over the course of the transfer window as a number of injuries and Covid-19 outbreaks have devastated his Gunners squad.

That has led to many reports that he will look to improve the squad and add another midfielder and striker to the attack in order to keep in that chase to get back inside the top sour spots

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his squad with discussions ongoing over a move worth £20million for Traore– with Wolves ready to cash in with just 18 months left on Traore’s deal, and they are reportedly leading the chase for the big man.

However, former Gunners defender Keown however believes his old side should be rivalling Spurs for Traore’s signature, Keown told BBC Final Score: ‘I feel Traore is awesome at times and just for once, we have the satisfaction of seeing it.

‘It’s a lovely finish from him. I’d sign him if I was a manager. Arsenal – get in and buy him.’

IcFootballnews View…

There are many people out there that firmly believe Traore should be playing at one of the big clubs in the Premier League, and rightly so, he has many top qualities.

However, his final delivery is not good enough and right now, adding him to that Arsenal squad would not add goals to the attack.

The Gunners need a finisher this month and another central midfielder, so that is where there money should go, not splashing £40 million on a player that has scored once in the last 22 Premier League appearances.

So we would be very shocked to see Traore at Arsenal, and it is much more likely that he goes to Spurs

Club reportedly preparing a shock bid for £10m Nottingham Forest player

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are looking to add depth to their squad in January. Owing to this, they are monitoring Nottingham Forest’s 21-year-old Djed Spence.

The Gunners supporters would certainly not enjoy hearing ‘Nottingham Forest’ anytime soon. The Reds recently knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup in the third round. Nottingham Forest, who were playing at home, were resolute in both attack and defence.

Arsenal failed to even register a shot on target as Nottingham’s goalkeeper, Brice Samba, had a quiet night in goal. Substitute Lewis Grabban scored for the Reds in the 83rd minute to ensure that his team won the game 1-0. Though Arsenal lost, it certainly looks like Mikel Arteta and the club’s board members were impressed by a certain Nottingham Forest player.

Arsenal are monitoring Djed Spence

Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners are reportedly preparing a shock bid for £10m Nottingham Forest player

As per Football London, the Gunners are attempting to sign Djed Spence in January. The 21-year-old Middlesbrough player is currently on loan at the Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Spence had a terrific showing against Arsenal in the FA Cup. The youngster was the highest-rated player in the game according to multiple footballing websites.

He has represented Fulham and Middlesbrough in his youth career. He made his first-team debut for Middlesbrough in the 2018/19 season. Since then has made 70 appearances for Boro’s first team.

Djed Spence joined Nottingham Forest on loan in August 2021. Since then, the Englishman has played 20 games for the Reds and has also scored one goal.

One of the main positives of Djed Spence is his versatility. The Nottingham Forest player can play as a right-back, right midfielder, and also as a right-winger. Owing to his prowess, Spence has gained interest from foreign clubs as well.

As per the report, Serie A giants Inter Milan and AS Roma are also eager in signing Spence. Even if Arsenal manage to buy the player from Middlesbrough, he won’t be able to play for them this season.

Djed Spence won’t be able to play for Arsenal until the 2022/23 season, as he has already represented two teams this season. The right-back played for Boro before moving to Nottingham Forest in August last year. Hence, the Gunners would have to loan him back to the Reds for now.

Will Spence be a good buy for Mikel Arteta?

Djed Spence is reportedly being valued at £10m by Middlesbrough. Hence, it would be a good deal given the fact that both Cedric Soares and Callum Chambers may leave Arsenal in the summer. Mikel Arteta is building a team of youngsters, hence Djed Spence would surely fit in his plans if the Spaniard decides to sign him in January.
