Manchester United squandered a two-goal lead against Aston Villa this evening at Villa Park in the Premier League. Here are our player ratings for the game.

David de Gea 7.5 – Made some good saves in the first half and could do nothing about either goal.

Diogo Dalot 7 – Did OK without there being any fireworks.

Victor Lindelof 6.5 – Didn’t do much wrong.

Raphael Varane 4 – Could have done much better for both goals. Lost his man completely for the first and could have made the interception for the second.

Alex Telles 7 – Excellent first half, not as bright in the second but good enough.

Nemanja Matic 5 – Passed too easily in the second half especially.

Fred 6 – Got the assist but otherwise contributed little defensively or going forward.

Mason Greenwood 5 – Not a good outing for Mason. Scuffed some chances and was greedy.

Bruno Fernandes 8.5 – United’s man-of-the-match. Looked good playing from midfield and United lost control when he was pushed up higher in the second half.

Anthony Elanga 5.5 – Nearly scored with an excellent bit of skill and worked hard, but doesn’t look quite the finished article yet.

Edinson Cavani 7.5 – Quiet efficiency.


Jadon Sancho 5 – Just came on and lost the ball, basically.

Donny van de Beek 6.5 – Had a good effort at the end.

Jesse Lingard 6 – Did not influence the game much.

Gerrard delighted after Kamara agrees Aston Villa move




Both Man United and Chelsea have seen Aston Villa sign Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara on a free deal.

The former Marseille star thrived in a holding role at Stade Velodrome, appearing in 170 games across all competitions after initially breaking into their senior squad in 2016.

His performances for the French giants has led to constant speculation that both Chelsea and Man United were ready to make their moves and try to offer him a move to their clubs – especially as they both need to improve before the start of next season.

However – the 22-year old made the decision that a move to Villa would be the one that he most desires right now and agreed a big five-year contract with Steven Gerrards impressive side.

Villa have confirmed Kamara’s arrival on a free transfer, and head coach Steven Gerrard has expressed his delight after sealing his first new signing of the summer.

“I am delighted that we have been able to attract one of the most promising young talents in European football,” Gerrard told the club’s media.

“We have a very clear plan to make our team stronger and Bouba is an important part of that.”

Kamara has only recently decided that he would leave the French giants – so United and Chelsea must have been preparing their moves for the player

But they have missed out and Kamara will surely be a great addition to that Villa side – he really has been impressive this season

However – Villa will need to be careful as Kamara has made no secret of his desire to play at the top of the game and this move with give both Chelsea and Man United the chance to see just how he performs in the Premier League

And if he does well – they will surely go back in with an offer

Manchester City News: That wild ending describes what the Premier League is all about. Pressure, perseverance, and performance. The immense competition, and City’s habit of silencing the competition, are simply amazing!

Pep Guardiola was dancing up and down the sidelines as Manchester City found themselves down 2-0 against Villa. Liverpool needed a goal to win and it felt as if Gerrard’s men might have done enough.

On comes Gundogan, the man the hero. In a span of mere 5 minutes, Manchester City scored 3 goals against Aston Villa reclaiming their advantage in the title run. That’s how dangerous this team is.

Once they click they are almost impossible to stop and let’s just say there are scarce occasions when they don’t! Liverpool did their bit but in the end, it turned out exactly like the 18-19 season, City found a way.

Boubacar Kamara completes Aston Villa transfer after snubbing interest from Premier League and La Liga clubs




Premier League News: Aston Villa has signed Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, beating out Premier League and La Liga clubs.

After stating he would not be signing an extension at the Stade Velodrome, the 22-year-old was available on a free transfer. United and Atletico Madrid had been connected with Kamara in the past. However, Steven Gerrard’s side have now confirmed that he has signed a five-year contract with Villa Park.

I am thrilled that we have been able to attract one of Europe’s most promising young talents,” Gerrard stated. We have a very clear plan to strengthen our squad, and Bouba is a key component of that.”

Kamara was just called up to the French national squad for the first time. He claimed that working with the renowned former Liverpool captain was an easy option.
