Jude Bellingham’s name being thrown into the Chelsea mix is a top option for the club – Talk Chelsea

The midfield area is one area that Chelsea look to be prioritising improving in the summer.

Particularly players who can play in a deeper role as well as a more advanced position. The main names linked over recent months is of course Declan Rice and Aurelien Tchouameni.

But one name I am pleased to hear still being linked with the club is England international Jude Bellingham, who I believe would be a real top option for us.

Transfer inside Dean Jones was on my Podcast this morning, The Si & Dan Talk Chelsea Podcast, and he told me that Jude Bellingham ‘is someone Chelsea have on their radar for the summer’ and that was music to my ears.

Check out the full Episode at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, he covers a lot more transfer news including the latest on Digne, Tchouameni, and Kounde.

Bellingham was always seen as more of an attacking midfielder when he was younger, but he has actually now developed into a complete all rounder and can play the pivot 6 role very well. He’s been fantastic for Dortmund, and in the few games he’s had for his country, he’s been fantastic there as well.

This would represent a real investment for Chelsea with Bellingham only being 18-years old still but having already developed into a mature player who is ready to compete at the top level, we wouldn’t have to wait for him to develop more. But the scary thing is he IS actually still improving with every game and will get even better.

I’m not sure sure it would be too realistic to get him in the coming summer but if there is a chance, Chelsea should be all over that.

I’m not saying Bellingham over Rice or Tchouameni necessarily, but he is an option that if we did only get him over the other two let’s just say I wouldn’t be too upset. Chelsea could still get two new midfielders in the summer depending on circumstances, so we will have to see what happens, but Bellingham is a player high up on my list of targets that I want Chelsea to bring in, and he’s a VERY realistic option.

Declan Rice is a must for the Red Devils

Manchester United News: We love a lot of things about football and one of them is a last-minute winning goal. The raw emotion that follows is something that can’t be described.

United’s defensive woes are known to everyone in the world. However, the Red Devils must have been happy with their defensive display against West Ham on Saturday.

Ralf Rangnick should consider himself lucky because of the depth of the squad. The German manager was able to call Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial when the game was heading to a draw. And the reinforcements delivered when it mattered the most.

However, the problem for this United team remains in the midfield. There are not enough chances created for the likes of Mason Greenwood and Cristiano Ronaldo on a weekly basis.

Manchester United News: Rice, an ideal midfielder for United?

Manchester United News: Declan Rice is a must for United in the summer.

United fans are desperate to see a defensive midfielder play for their team. The club has a lot of attacking options, but without a defensive midfielder, the other midfielders can’t play freely.

The club employs a lot of midfielders, but they have similar traits. The likes of Fred and Scott McTominay are always given defensive duties, and they fail often.

The club is destined to lose Paul Pogba in the summer window and there’s expected to be a midfield vacancy for someone to fill, preferably a player who has both attacking and defensive qualities.

One player who is on top of the transfer list in that position for Manchester United is Declan Rice. As per Whoscored, Rice’s statistics are phenomenal. The hammers captain is averaging 2.3 tackles per 90 minutes this season. He is also making 1.8 interceptions, 1.3 clearances, and maintaining a 90% pass accuracy.

However, the biggest obstacle in his signing is the price. West Ham United values Rice at £100m. Regardless of all the qualities he possesses, this is an insane transfer fee.

What does Rice have to say?

The England international has been linked to United for a couple of seasons now. But he always refused to make comments about the saga. However, Rice didn’t stop himself from talking about Old Trafford and that can be taken as his indicator for a move.

After the game, Rice said: “I was loving it. Every time I come to Old Trafford; I’ve always said it’s one of my favourite places to play. It’s an amazing stadium,” he said.

In recent times, more players have talked about leaving the club than joining them. United fans must be feeling good about the club after the positive comments from the young midfielder.

The summer transfer window is going to be a busy one for Manchester United. The club is looking for a new manager, a midfielder as well as a striker. Rice might make the move or might not, but his interview is a positive one for the fans of the fallen giants.

Rice should avoid Manchester United, says Cole

Manchester United News: Manchester United and Declan Rice get linked with each other daily. Many pundits believe Rice should make a move whereas many feel that he won’t win anything there.

In his latest interview, former Chelsea and Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole has said that the midfielder will take a risk if he joins the Manchester giants. The risk involves not winning trophies with the club.

The England international has been linked with United for a couple of years now. United needs a midfielder and Rice is seen as the first choice by the Old Trafford hierarchy.

United officials were able to observe the England international in action during their dramatic 1-0 home victory against David Moyes’ side on Saturday.

Manchester United News: What does Cole have to say?

Manchester United News: Rice should avoid Manchester United, says Joe Cole

If the former England midfielder is to believe, Rice should not opt for United as his next destination. He feels that the ambiance that surrounds Old Trafford may not be right for him.

Cole said on BT Sport: “It’s the risk of not winning trophies. If I am Declan Rice, then I will think a lot about it before making a move. If Manchester City enters the race, then it becomes one-sided. As an ambitious player, moving to City guarantees you trophies.”

“If you ask me, I see him staying at the London club if the owners keep on showing ambition. He needs better players around him to reach the next level in his game as well as the club.”

United’s love for Rice is well known to everyone. If a report from ESPN is to be believed, Rice featured on United’s shortlist of midfield targets that the club’s senior figures had assembled.

However, the club hierarchy knows that to land the superstar, they need Champions League football next campaign.

Cole on Mctominay?

Scott McTominay has been superb recently and his performances haven’t gone unnoticed. The midfielder received a lot of praise from Cole for his impressive display against the Hammers.

“United needs to strengthen the midfield, it’s a no-brainer. I like McTominay but there needs to be something else, a different ingredient in there,” Cole added.

“United fans are still stuck with what they have seen in the past. This is a new generation, this is a new team, and I think today they’ve looked okay.”

Cole on Pogba?

Pogba is hit and miss with the club. the potential of the player is not in doubt, but his injury and form have let down the United fans and his teammates badly.

The Frenchman might be back after the international break and Ralf has said that he is showing good signs. The former Juventus man is out of the team for over two months ago and is yet to feature since Rangnick replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November.

However, Cole is also of the opinion Pogba has had multiple amounts of chances to prove himself at United.

Manchester United’s long-term transfer target and West Ham star Declan Rice has excited fans by talking up Old Trafford stadium.

The sensational Englishman is often seen as the solution to United’s midfield woes and he wasted no time in praising his potential future home.

The video below shows him discussing his thoughts:

The quote is also written out by Utdreport, who use Sky as their source, with Rice having said: “I was loving it. Every time I come to Old Trafford, I’ve always said it’s one of my favourite places to play. It’s an amazing stadium.”

Some supporters have already joked that he can enjoy playing there more often if he makes the switch to United soon.

Rice was initially targetted as a defensive-midfielder but his natural improvement on the ball and carrying it forward has seen some suggest he’s changed.

The aggressive midfielder can be viewed more as a box-to-box player with the way he plays the game as he’s no longer scared to venture out of his midfield.

It’s unclear how he’ll be used at Manchester United, should he move, as Ralf Rangnick may not be their permanent manager.

The German boss was hired on an interim basis until the end of the season before he moves into an advisory role for a further two years.

Nonetheless, it’s obvious fans would like Rice at the club regardless of which manager is in charge when the summer comes around.
