Arsenal News: The Gunners pulled out a mammoth 4-2 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Following the victory, Mikel Arteta has admitted that he was wrong about Edward Nketiah and has treated the forward unfairly.

Having lost three consecutive matches, Arsenal’s top-four hopes were hanging by a thread. Hence the Gunners went into the Chelsea game with a “must-win” attitude in order to remain in contention for the top four.

Mikel Arteta gave a rare start to Edward Nketiah in the game and the forward didn’t disappoint his manager. The 22-year-old scored a crucial brace to light up the London derby.

Emile Smith-Rowe and Bukayo Saka also joined the party as Arsenal beat Chelsea 4-2 at their home. The win took the Gunners to fifth place in the Premier League standings.

As per the Metro, Mikel Arteta has admitted that he has not been very fair to Edward Nketiah. The Spaniard has hardly played the youngster in his starting XI and now admits that Nketiah has proven him wrong.

Following the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the striking duties were inherited by Alexandre Lacazette. Even though the Frenchman has not been in the best of form, Arteta has kept him in his team.

But Edward Nketiah’s brace against Chelsea seems to have changed Mikel Arteta’s mind. The Spaniard stated after the game that Nketiah is the only player with whom he may have been unfair.

Mikel Arteta said, “If Eddie doesn’t play more, it’s my fault. Because as a manager I missed something or I haven’t had the courage to play him more. Today he showed me more how wrong I was.”

Before the game against Chelsea, Edward Nketiah had made 14 Premier League appearances this season. But in this, only one was from the starting XI. This came against Southampton last weekend after Alexandre Lacazette had tested positive for Covid.

Arsenal have a tough run of fixtures ahead. The Gunners will face Manchester United, West Ham United, Leeds United, and Tottenham Hotspur in their next four games. Hence it has to be seen if Edward Nketiah gets the nod to start these games as well.

End of the road for Alexandre Lacazette?

The French striker had an interview this week and it was not well received by the Arsenal fans. In the interview, Lacazette admitted that he wants a return to Lyon and is already in talks with multiple clubs about a summer move.

Given that Alexandre Lacazette is Arsenal’s captain, this brings bad light on the player and the club. Hence it has to be seen if Mikel Arteta will give the striker a place in the starting XI once again.

The Gunners Want To Sign Alvaro Morata

Arsenal Transfer News: It has been stated that Arsenal is very close to finalizing a deal to acquire Alvaro Morata for the sum of €30 million, even though Barcelona is often mentioned in connection with the player

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are interested in acquiring a new striker in the next offseason. Sport reports that Arsenal is close to finalizing a deal to bring Alvaro Morata to the Emirates in exchange for €30 million. In January, the representatives of North London expressed interest in the Spaniard. Barcelona was also keeping a close eye on him.

The trajectory of Alvaro Morata’s career has often taken unexpected twists. It seems that the striker is on the verge of making another significant transfer. Even though he has never had a productive stint at any of the major clubs, he consistently finds a way to play a significant part in the national team. Strangely, a lot of big clubs have ended up having to pay enormous prices to get his services.

Morata is very close to completing a transfer to Arsenal for the price of €30 million. Thus the Gunners are a potential candidate to become the next team in this category.

During the month of January, the Gunners were said to be interested in the player. But they were unable to pursue the notion further. Morata is expected to depart Atletico Madrid in the summer. This has led SPORT to once again associate the north Londoners with a trade.

Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal is interested in Morata

He is playing for Juventus on loan right now. The club has an option to buy him for close to €35 million. Even though the Bianconeri are interested in keeping the Spaniard on their roster, they do not plan to pay the money to do so.

If Atletico Madrid is willing to significantly lower their asking price, the powerhouses of Serie A may seriously contemplate permanently signing Morata.

Morata’s name has lately been brought up in connection with Barcelona. Xavi Hernandez of Barcelona reportedly considered the Spaniard an option for their primary target, Robert Lewandowski.

If the Blaugrana are unable to agree over the Polish international, they can step up their chase of the Spanish international.

A trade including Antoine Griezmann is also being investigated by Barcelona. But at this point, it is still regarded to be only conjecture. As the Premier League powerhouses continue their hunt for a new striker, Morata’s name has recently been brought up in connection with Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta has been hunting for a certain sort of striker. So, t comes as quite a surprise that rumours revolving around Morata have begun to circulate again. Morata is not the youthful, ambitious striker that the manager of Arsenal desires since he is 29 years old.

If Arsenal had intended to add two strikers, then the transfer may have been a viable option. However, because Eddie Nketiah is very close to committing to remaining at the Emirates, the North Londoners may only sign one new center-forward.

Where will Morata finally move to?

Gabriel Jesus, who now plays for Manchester City, continues to be the overwhelming favorite to sign with Arsenal. However, the Gunners have some work to do before they can officially sign the Brazilian.

Arsenal is another club that has been mentioned in connection with Victor Osimhen. Recent rumors said that Arsenal made a massive offer to Napoli in the amount of €90 million. But Napoli turned down the offer. Arsenal may be serious about acquiring the Nigerian international during this transfer window.

When it comes to Morata, a transfer to Barcelona may be more likely than one to Arsenal. However, the transfer to Camp Nou also heavily depends on the ability of the Catalan club to acquire Robert Lewandowski. Although he still has one year remaining on his contract with Atletico Madrid, it seems likely that he will leave the club over the summer.

Arsenal Battle Crystal Palace For Cheick Doucoure

Arsenal Transfer News: It has been rumored that Arsenal, along with Crystal Palace and Everton, would engage in a fierce competition in the transfer market this summer to get Cheick Doucoure from RC Lens

Arsenal Transfer News: Cheick Doucoure is reportedly the subject of attention from Arsenal over a potential move to the club during the summer transfer window, as stated by a report from the Daily Mirror.

Crystal Palace and Everton are among the clubs that are keeping an eye on the RC Lens midfielder. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion are also among the clubs that might be interested.

Before moving to Europe in 2018, Cheick Doucoure had already spent most of his formative years in Mali, his country of origin. The 22-year-old completed his footballing education at RC Lens shortly after joining Les Sang et Or.

He has since come leaps and bounds in France. Thus, establishing himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in Ligue 1. The footballer has come leaps and bounds in France.

The Malian player has appeared for Lens 131 times so far. Thus, he contributed eight goals and seven assists. He is a national team player for his country. The performances of Doucoure have not gone unnoticed.

Many of the most prestigious teams in the Premier League, including Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Everton, have shown an interest in signing him.

Arsenal Transfer News: Arsenal in the market for a midfielder

Mikel Arteta does not have much of a backup plan for Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka. So, Arsenal will want to add a new midfielder during the summer transfer window.

Even though Mohamed Elneny showed significant improvement in the last month of the season, he remains, at best, a backup option.

Albert Sambi Lokonga is not yet prepared to become a regular for Arsenal. So, the club needs a new midfielder, which makes Doucoure an attractive transfer target.

According to recent rumours, though, Doucoure is getting closer to signing with Crystal Palace. Because Cheikhou Kouyate and Luka Milivojevic are both in their thirties, the Eagles will need to invest in a holding midfielder during the summer transfer window. Patrick Vieira might benefit from an infusion of freshness in his squad.

In addition, Crystal Palace and Doucoure have been in communication for a considerable amount of time. The teenager is considered to be an excellent choice for Vieira.

Will the move be feasible?

After escaping relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth, Everton will almost certainly engage in a comprehensive makeover of their playing roster. Because of the uncertainty surrounding Allan’s future at Goodison Park, the team from Merseyside will need to invest in a new midfielder. Additionally, Everton should think about pursuing Doucoure as an alternative.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keeping an eye on Doucoure’s development, in addition to Arsenal, Crystal Palace, and Everton. Therefore, a transfer to the Premier League in the summer seems to be in the cards for him.

The Gunners may like their chances of landing him given that European football will be on offer. But other teams will be able to provide him with consistent game-time.

Morata – Aouar – Marquinhos in Arsenal news of the day

Arsenal very close to Morata signing – Marquinhos on way in – Gunners given green light to sign Aouar in Arsenal news of the day….

Arsenal are ‘very close’ to signing former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, according to reports in Spain.

With reports in the media suggesting that Mikel Arteta wants to bring in a top-class striker in the summer window to bolster that front-line of his, there has been links with a move for Morata.

The Spanish star is currently at Juventus on loan from Atletico Madrid, but with the Italians not keen on keeping hold and the Spaniards reportedly ready to sell, Arsenal could find themselves making a move for the man

The former Chelsea frontman managed just nine Serie A goals this season as Juve finished a disappointing fourth – a full 16 points behind league champions AC Milan.

It is no secret that Alexandre Lacazette and Ediie Nketiah look both set to depart the club, and Arteta will need to add another forward to that front line that has played at the top level.

Now – Sport claim the Gunners are set to pay £25m for the forward to bring him back to the Premier League as they look to push for the top four next year.

IcFootballnews View…

Morata is a player that has won countless trophies and scored a ton of goals, but he has never quite been able to reach that next level and become a world class striker, something that Arsenal need.

We have no idea who Arsenal will try and sign over the next window, but one thing is for sure, they need to sign a forward that has the ability to score more than 20-goals per season

And over the seasons – Morata has proven time and time again that he is not able to do that, he really struggled in the Premier League and Chelsea

So we believe that the Gunners should stay away from the Spaniard in the summer

Marquinhos on way in…

Sao Paulo are confident that Marquinhos’ move to Arsenal will go ahead and be announced shortly

The season is over and the transfer window is only a few weeks away from opening – meaning that Mikel Arteta can bring a few more players to the squad that will improve key areas of the pitch

The Spaniard let a number of squad members – that were no longer needed – leave the club in the January transfer window – meaning that he will need to buy players that will make an impact on the side – but will also add more depth.

Marquinhos broke through into the Sao Paulo side as a 18-year-old, making his debut against Flamengo in July, 2021 – and has been mightily impressive for the Brazilian side over the past couple of seasons

All the big clubs have been keeping a very close eye on his performances – his ability and his very low asking price – but it seems that Arsenal have now won the race to get a transfer deal done

And now fans have been told that the Brazilian believe that a deal will be wrapped up soon between the two clubs: ‘Sao Paulo still hasn’t received the money from Arsenal, but it’s calm,’ a source at the Brazilian club told Yahoo Sports Brazil.

‘The agreement has legal guarantees and the player has already undergone medical examinations.’

Meanwhile, Sao Paulo have been criticised for allowing Marquinhos to leave the club for such a relatively small fee.

‘This is absurd. This is absurd,’ said former Brazil midfielder Vampeta.

‘They’re going to lose Marquinhos to Arsenal for £2.5m. I don’t know if you remember that I used to say I watched Audax’s academy games, Marquinhos in the under-15s, he used to already make the difference.

“I said here on the show, ‘there’s an under-15 at Sao Paulo, Marquinhos’, now he’s going to leave on a silver platter.’

We do not know much about the lad – just what we have seen online – but he looks like a real talent and this is a massive move for him to make – lets see if he is able to be the next big Brazilian sensation to come to Europe

Gunners get green light to sign Aouar…

Arsenal have been given the green light to try and finally seal a deal for Houssem Aouar – as Lyon have put him up for sale

Now we all know that Mikel Arteta will need to delve into that transfer kitty in the summer and start to sign players that will make a real difference to the side -especially as they missed out on Champions League football

And there has been alot of speculation about players that could potentially get signed, and there now seems a real chance that the club are able to sign a player that they have been after for a good amount of transfer windows.

Aouar’s contract at Lyon expires in June 2023 – but he shows no signs of penning an extension despite joining the club way back in 2009 aged 11, and the fact the 23-year-old Frenchman changed agents to IMC Stellar Sports at the beginning of this year further implies he will be packing his bags.

In 45 games this season, the midfielder has scored 8 goals and 4 assists, a decrease in his goal involvements since his 2019/20 season which notably saw an impressive Champions League campaign

Now – RMC have claimed that Lyon have put the player on the transfer market and will allow him to leave for the likes of Arsenal if they receive the right offer

IcFootballnews view…

Look, there are always players linked with Arsenal way before the transfer window opens up, but Aouar is a man that Arsenal should have signed in previous windows, he really is gifted

If they do make a move, if they are able to get him for a bargain, and if they can get the best out of him, he would be a very special buy for the club

He would add a bit more quality to a midfield that has impressed for most of the season, but doesnt have too much depth to it.
