Guardiola asked about Man City deal for Haaland

Pep Guardiola has responded to report that Man City will look to sign Man United target Erling Haaland in the summer window

Over the last few seasons, Haaland has developed into one of the most dangerous attackers in world football and his goal-scoring record has been nothing short of amazing at Borussia Dortmund

However, the Norway international striker has been widely tipped to depart the Bundesliga outfit this summer, with a €75 million (£63m/$83m) release clause catching the eye of several major European suitors.

City are understood to be the frontrunners to capture the services of Haaland, who reportedly wants around £600,000-a-week in wages, ahead of Manchester rivals United, who are also in the hunt for a new striker

But amid all the speculation surrounding a possible deal for Haaland, Guardiola was speaking to reporters to preview City’s Premier League home clash with Brighton on Wednesday, and was inevitably asked if the striker was heading to the club

“No answer to your question. I have other things in my head rather than what is going to happen next season,” he said.

Asked whether City were targeting a striker for next season, Guardiola replied: “We are playing with a good striker this season. We don’t know what is going to happen in the future.

“For many years I never talk about transfer windows especially when we have incredible things to play for this season.”

If City do want Haaland and they manage to secure a transfer deal for the player, the rest of the Premier League should watch out as that is the only areas of the pitch that they are lacking

Man United will want to make sure that they put in the correct offer to the player, but right now, why would he turn down a move to a club that pretty much is challenging for every title?

Arsenal confirms Elneny has agreed new deal

Mohamed Elneny has announced his pure delight that he has agreed a new contract with Arsenal

The Egyptian star has found game time hard to come by this season and has had to watch the games from the bench, but he has played a key role in the run in of the Premier League season

The injury to Thomas Partey has offered Elneny the chance to shine, and with reports suggesting that Mikel Arteta will not want to lose many more players in the transfer window, Elneny was ready to sign a new deal with the Gunners

And soon after the season has finished – Arsenal have come out and announced that Elneny has agreed a new contract at the Emirates – although they have not divulged the duration of the contract signed.

“Midfielder Mohamed [Elneny] is extending his stay with us,” Arsenal revealed on their official website. “Elneny has been a key member of the squad since joining us from Basel in 2016. He’s made 147 appearances, scoring five goals and contributing 10 assists.”

Here is what Elneny said:

“I feel like when you play in one of the biggest teams in the world and you have an amazing family and the fans are really amazing as well – they make me feel special,” Elneny told the same portal.

“You feel like you are special for this club and this club is special for you. Of course, I want to stay here until I finish my career actually.”

“I needed to hear what he’s thinking about me and I always say to him, ‘Mikel, I really appreciate what you’ve done for me.’

“Because with Mikel I play more than I was before. I said to him, ‘Mikel, if you say to me that you want me to stay or you want me to leave, I’m going to do whatever you want.’

“Then the way he spoke about me is something that really makes me emotional.

“It was really good for me to hear it from Mikel, about the way I play and the way I’m happy with him and being positive. It’s incredible for me to feel this way from Mikel, from the club, and from Edu. I’m really happy.”

Elneny may not be the most glamourous of players – but fans will surely be hoping that this does not mean no new midfielders will be signed

Salah admits that he will stay at Liverpool this summer

Mohamed Salah has ruled out a summer transfer away from Liverpool, insisting he will stay at Anfield “next season for sure.”

The Egyptian’s current deal expires in 2023, but the club and Salah are yet to reach an agreement over new terms, as they reportedly simply cannot agree on the length and amount of the deal

That has led to many top clubs keeping a very close eye on the situation with the superstar, and are ready to swoop in at the end of the season and offer him a way out of Anfield.

But Salah has dropped a massive bombshell to potential clubs looking at a possible deal this transfer window – after admitted that he will not be leaving Liverpool this coming summer.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s Champions League final in Paris, Salah was asked about the speculation surrounding his future – He told reporters: “I don’t want to be selfish.

“I’m just focused with the team, really. I don’t want to talk about the contract. We have a long time. I’m staying next season for sure. That’s clear. I’m staying next season. Let’s see after that.”

We could never see Salah leaving the club at the end of the current season – it would be a massive mistake – and the wrong time to leave

This Liverpool side is probably the best in Europe right now – so as we said – it would be a mistake for him to leave

But despite the fact he has said that he will be staying this summer – it looks like his team-mate Sadio Mane could be the first big player to depart the club when the transfer window opens up.

Caglar Soyuncu

Chelsea to offer Soyuncu £19M move to Stamford Bridge?

There has been some fresh reports in the media which has suggested that Chelsea will put an offer in to sign Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu

With the fact that both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger are leaving the club on a free deal in the next couple of weeks – Thomas Tuchel knows he needs to add defenders to the squad.

Tuchel knows he needs to move quickly to try to stem the tide of outgoings, as the duo – Alongside Thiago Silva, they have been the men to give the Chelsea defence some of its bite and improvement this season.

That has led to many reports suggesting that a new defender is now high up on the shopping list of Tuchel and they have been linked with a whole host of players from La Liga – Ligue 1 and Seria A

But Leicester centre-back Caglar Soyuncu has been linked as a potential replacement for those departing – despite the fact he was once behind Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans in the King Power pecking order.

But his performances meant that he has been voted into the PFA team of the season and according to AS, for £19million the 26-year-old Turkey international is seen as a reasonable fit for Chelsea.

But With just one year to run on his contract, there is plenty of interest with Real Madrid and Manchester City cited as possible rivals.

Soyuncu may not have the pace to cope with the most speedy players in the Premier League – but there is not doubt that he has the leadership and physical presence to be a real asset to this Chelsea side

Add that to the fact he is Premier League proven – means he could walk straight into that team and slot in nicely alongside Thiago Silva

There will be a few signings made by Cheslea this summer – but Soyuncu could be a very nice addition.
