Donny van de Beek: Manchester United set conditions for potential transfer – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United star Donny van de Beek‘s future appears to be up in the air but perhaps not for long, at least according to a few national newspapers.

According to The Mirror, Van de Beek’s decision to leave his previous agent Guido Albers and link up with new agent Ali Dursan has potentially backfired.

This is because Dursan cannot get a mandate to represent the young Dutchman without Albers’ permission and the latter has refused to release the player from a binding contract that won’t end until the summer.

A Dutch insider said to the Mirror: “It is very difficult to see how Van de Beek can move in this window. Dursan cannot secure a mandate to agree a deal because Donny is still under contract to be represented by Albers’ agency.

“That two-year agreement does not expire till the end of the season. So, unless something changes, the player will remain in Manchester.”

It’s understood Newcastle are keeping an eye on Van de Beek.

According to ESPN, Van de Beek is still keeping his door open for a move away this month despite Ralf Rangnick reassuring him he would get minutes.

The German boss has been clear he hopes to keep the former Ajax man until the summer at the very least.

Van de Beek is said to be ready to remain at Old Trafford and United will listen to his agents regarding any incoming offers but only if loan offers that cover his full wages and a loan fee are made.

The Red Devils though won’t overrule any decision Rangnick makes in regards to his player’s future.

The Telegraph confirms what the Mirror said in regards to Newcastle’s interest in Van de Beek but go one step further by saying it’s ‘likely’ they will test the waters.

Newcastle are believed to be keen on signing a midfielder but only on loan, which appears to suit United and the player’s desires.

Manchester United receive massive summer spending boost

Manchester United news: The Red Devils are likely to have a major overhaul of their squad under new manager Erik ten Hag.

United have not specifically set a budget ahead of the summer, but there are claims that they will give the Dutchman £200 for signing new players.

The Red Devils have overspent in the transfer market in recent years. They paid hefty fees to sign Paul Pogba, Harry Maguire, and Jadon Sancho, among others, but they failed to justify their price tag.

Erik ten Hag will have a massive task to fix the Red Devils’ flawed transfer policy this summer. He needs to establish long-term thinking to buy blueprints like other successful clubs.

The Red Devils are expected to save up to £50 million on player wages annually as Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Nemanja Matic, and Lee Grant will be out of contract in the summer.

United are looking to add a new defensive midfielder, a forward, and a centre-back to their squad this summer. They will also explore the possibility of upgrading their full-back position.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick recommended signing at least two forwards and a backup goalkeeper if Dean Henderson leaves at the end of the season.

The Red Devils currently have a number of players in their squad who will leave at the end of the season and any funds raised from their outings are likely to be invested back into the squad as well.

Phil Jones and Eric Bailly have reportedly informed their teammates about their desire to leave. The Red Devils are also open to selling Anthony Martial and Aaron Wan-Bassiaka. There is also uncertainty over the future of Marcus Rashford.

Jaap Stam backs Donny Van de Beek

Donny Van de Beek has struggled since joining the Red Devils from Ajax in 2020. The Netherlands international has scored just two goals in 27 league appearances for the club so far.

United loaned him out to Everton in January and he is likely to leave the club permanently in the summer. However, former United defender Jaap Stam backs Donny Van de Beek to succeed at Old Trafford.

He said:‘I think Donny is a good player, we’ve seen him in Holland and when he was at United he didn’t always get the opportunity to play. It could be possible that when Donny comes back in, he’s going to perform next season, but it’s very important for him as to who he’s going to play within the midfield.

Is Erik Ten Hag’s Arrival a Blessing for Donny Van De Beek?

Manchester United News: Donny Van De Beek has not had the best of times since joining the Red Devils. But Erik Ten Hag’s arrival could be a blessing for the Dutch midfielder.

The 24-year-old Dutch midfielder joined Manchester United from Ajax in September 2020. Van De Beek was a crucial member of the Ajax side that reached the UEFA Champions League semifinals in 2019.

Owing to this, Manchester United paid £39 million to sign the midfielder. The Red Devils’ technical director Darren Fletcher had termed the signing as “a bargain”. But things have not worked out for the Dutchman.

Donny Van De Beek hardly featured for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during his tenure. The Norwegian manager preferred using Paul Pogba, Fred, and McTominay over him. The same story continued under Ralf Rangnick and this led to the Dutchman signing with Everton on a loan deal in January.

Erik Ten Hag has reportedly agreed to become the next Manchester United manager. Hence his arrival could be the “blessing” that could finally make Donny Van De Beek unleash his full potential at the club.

Donny Van De Beek was a first-team regular under Erik Ten Hag at Ajax in the 2018/19 and the 2019/20 seasons. In this time, the midfielder scored 17 goals and provided 15 assists in 57 Eredivisie games.

The Ajax manager certainly got the best out of the midfielder. But it has been clear that both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick have failed to do the same with the Dutch midfielder.

In his one and half years with Manchester United, Donny Van De Beek has mostly warmed the bench. The Dutchman has made 28 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils. But out of these, only 4 have been from United’s starting XI.

Donny Van De Beek is currently on a loan deal with Everton until the end of the season. The 24-year-old has made 6 appearances for the Toffees. But a muscle injury has kept him out of action since mid-March.

Paul Pogba looks likely to leave Manchester United in the summer. To add to this, the Red Devils are also looking to sign a marquee defensive midfielder.

Hence it has to be seen how the club’s midfield shapes up next season.
