Chelsea must pull their fingers out and move for Lucas Digne – Talk Chelsea

Published

on

I was quite surprised this afternoon to see that Chelsea had still not opened ‘official talks’ with Everton to sign Lucas Digne.

I understand that enquiries have been made by Chelsea for Digne, but as of now Everton were saying they would only consider a permanent move and Chelsea want a loan deal with perhaps an option to buy. So this is why official talks have probably not started yet if the two clubs are not on the same wave-length.

It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!

But even still, if I was Chelsea I would be moving deep into those official talks now and trying to negotiate a deal to sign Digne regardless, because he wants to leave, and according to Fabrizio Romano he is likely to stay in the Premier League and will not be joining Chelsea. So surely that leaves a pretty much open run for Chelsea to sign Digne, or at least puts them in with a good chance?

So why have we not gone any further than just enquired as things stand?

Well, probably because it looks like we have been spending most of our time trying to recall Emerson Palmieri, with top sources still claiming that he remains a priority.

But Lyon have an option to buy him so the ball is in their court, so why are we wasting our time on this instead of opening official talks to sign Digne if we are interested in him? I have no clue. Maybe Chelsea feel a deal can still be done with Lyon to bring Emerson back?

Digne is a quality left wing back who is Premier League ready, experienced, and a French international, options do not come much better than this to replace a long term injury in our squad.

Donny Van de Beek unlikely to leave in January after transfer row with his agent

Manchester United News: Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek has not played much since he arrived at Manchester United. But it looks like he would have to be at the club at least until the end of the season.

The Red Devils have quite a few players in their ranks who are not content. Van de Beek, Jesse Lingard, and Anthony Martial have all expressed their desire to leave due to a lack of playing time.

Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had managed to retain these players by promising them playing time. But some blockbuster signings in the summer of 2021 prevented it from happening.

It has to be seen if these discontent players decide to leave United in January or if they stay and fight for their position until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Will Donny van de Beek stay at Manchester United?

Manchester United News: Donny Van de Beek unlikely to leave in January after transfer row with his agent

As per The Mirror, Donny van de Beek has had a rift with his agent. Owing to this, he could stay at Manchester United until the end of the 2021/22 season.

Donny van de Beek cut ties with his former agent, Guido Alber, in October 2021. The pair had a falling out after Alber was not able to secure a move away from Manchester United in the summer.

The Dutch midfielder signed up with Ali Dursan after parting ways with Guido Alber. Van de Beek had reportedly asked his new agent to secure a move in January. But it looks like any move is unlikely.

Though Ali Dursan is now the agent of Donny van de Beek, the Dutchman is still under contract with his former agent. Guido Alber and Van De Beek had signed an agreement of 18 months. And this agreement would end in June 2022.

Ali Dursan would need to get a mandate to represent Van De Beek in any meeting before that. But it is unlikely that Guido Alber would give that up after how his working relationship ended with the midfielder.

Courtesy of this, it is expected that Van De Beek would stay at Old Trafford until the end of the season.

The Dutch midfielder could help Ralf Rangnick

Van De Beek has been part of the Manchester United side since September 2020. The midfielder has made 48 appearances since then, but most of them have been off the bench.

The Dutch midfielder has started just one game since the arrival of Ralf Rangnick at Old Trafford. With the density of fixtures increasing, the interim Manchester United boss should turn towards his substitutes. This could turn out to be the chance that Van De Beek needs to kick-start his United career under Ralf Rangnick. It has to be seen how the Dutchman performs when he is given the chance.

Barcelona Transfer News: Alvaro Morata is being heavily rumoured to be transferred to FC Barcelona. But it looks like Juventus might have a problem in letting the striker leave.

The Blaugrana kicked off the January transfer window in style. A big-money signing of Ferran Torres from Manchester City ensured that Xavi had made his first official transfer as the Barcelona coach.

Ferran Torres had been a priority signing for Xavi Hernandez as per reports. Barcelona were looking to sign Edinson Cavani, but Xavi remained adamant in his demands. The Spaniard will be presented in the Camp Nou in the coming days.

FC Barcelona had reportedly set their sights on striker Alvaro Morata next. But it looks like the deal could be in jeopardy as Juventus have encountered a problem.

Will Alvaro Morata sign for FC Barcelona?

Barcelona Transfer News: Alvaro Morata’s transfer from Juventus faces a problem

Alvaro Morata wants to join FC Barcelona. There was even news of the striker agreeing personal terms with the Blaugrana yesterday. But the move has encountered a problem as per JuveFC

As per the report, Juventus might not let Alvaro Morata leave in January. Apart from Morata, the Old Lady only have Moise Kean as a recognized center forward. Hence, they would not let Morata leave until they sign a striker themselves.

The Atletico Madrid striker joined Juventus on loan in September 2020. Morata has scored 27 goals in 67 appearances for the Old Lady since then. The Spaniard has won the SuperCoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia since joining on loan.

Alvaro Morata has been very ordinary in the 2021/22 season. He has just scored 5 goals in 18 Serie A appearances this season. Owing to this, there were rumours that Juventus were looking to end his loan in January 2022.

FC Barcelona have since joined the race to sign the Spaniard. The Blaugrana are reportedly interested in giving Morata a contract for 18 months.

As Alvaro Morata is an Atletico Madrid player, FC Barcelona would have to sign the striker from their Spanish rivals. Barcelona are looking to pay €35 million in transfer fee. But Juventus would have a say in the deal as the player has been loaned out to them till the end of the 2021/22 season.

Atletico Madrid are unsure of selling Morata to Barça

As per the report of another news agency, Atletico Madrid are unsure to sell Alvaro Morata to FC Barcelona. Spanish journalist Gerard Romero has disclosed that Diego Simeone’s side does not want to increase their rivals’ firepower.

Alvaro Morata’s loan at Juventus ends in the summer. Following which Morata is scheduled to return to Atletico Madrid as of now. It has to be seen if there is a change of plans in the coming days.

Ralf Rangnick is interested in Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez

Manchester United Transfer News: The Red Devils are reportedly monitoring the situation of Emiliano Martinez. As United manager, Ralf Rangnick is looking to sign the £40m Aston Villa keeper in the summer.

The Red Devils have started strongly under Ralf Rangnick. The interim manager has helped Manchester United win 10 out of a possible 12 points in the Premier League since his arrival.

With the January transfer window now open, Manchester United are expected to make a few signings. Ralf Rangnick has reportedly identified a few players, and the club has already begun talks.

One of the positions that Manchester United are looking at is the goalkeeping position. And it looks like Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez could be an option for the Red Devils.

Manchester United Transfer News: Ralf Rangnick is interested in Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez

As per TEAMtalk, Manchester United are said to be interested in Aston Villa’s goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. United manager Ralf Rangnick thinks highly of the keeper and wants to swoop him in 2022.

Though United are monitoring Emiliano Martinez, it is unlikely that Aston Villa will let him leave in January. Owing to this, a summer move looks like a possibility if the Red Devils are to sign the Argentinian.

Aston Villa are reportedly valuing Emiliano Martinez at a whopping £40m. Hence, Manchester United would have to pay up a hefty fee if they agree on the personal terms with the goalkeeper.

David de Gea has been on song for United this season. The Spaniard has been one of the main reasons why the Red Devils have had a respectable campaign until the end of 2021.

But the Red Devils face uncertainty about their backup goalkeeper. Dean Henderson rejoined the club last season after spending two seasons on loan at Sheffield United. Since returning to Manchester United in 2020, Henderson has made just 28 appearances for the club.

The English goalkeeper is reportedly frustrated to be the second fiddle to David de Gea. Hence, he is favouring a move out of United in the summer. With Dean Henderson leaving, Emiliano Martinez could be a top-class addition to the United squad.

Will the Aston Villa keeper join United?

If Emiliano Martinez chooses to join Manchester United, he would have to compete with David de Gea for the position. The Spaniard has been in good form hence would probably be the first choice goalkeeper next season as well.

At Aston Villa, Martinez has had a good one and a half seasons. The Argentinian has played in 55 Premier League games and has kept 20 clean sheets. It has to be seen if Emiliano Martinez would risk being a substitute if he chooses to go to Manchester United.
