Antonio Rudiger Hints at potential Stamford Bridge exit

Chelsea News: Former England manager Jamie Redknapp has pushed the Blues to re-sign Antonio Rudiger, who is in the last year of his contract with Chelsea. Rudiger stated he has loved this chapter of his career.

Chelsea defeated Tottenham 3-0 on aggregate in the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night, with Rudiger scoring the winning goal in the second leg.

Thomas Tuchel’s side completed the job in the first leg at Stamford Bridge last week, winning 2-0, and Rudiger’s first-half goal in north London sealed the deal, setting up a Wembley showdown against either Liverpool or Arsenal next month.

Chelsea News: Rudiger’s contract expires this season

The German international’s contract expires at the end of the season, and there has been considerable conjecture about what will happen to him after that.

Barcelona are keeping an eye on the defender’s position, while Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Juventus have all reached out to his agents.

The 28-year-old insists he is OK with his current situation at Chelsea, even though there seems to be no impending settlement between the two parties. If Rudiger becomes a free agent in the summer, the German international will not hurry into signing a pre-contract deal with a new club, according to Sky Sports News. Rudiger is aware that Premier League clubs may be interested in signing him if he becomes available.

Chelsea News: What Antonio Rudiger said recently

Rudiger remarked on Sky Sports after his man-of-the-match performance against Tottenham: “I’m having a great time” In terms of chapters, I believe you have to see it for yourself, and I have loved this chapter, and I have enjoyed it so far. This is the most exciting period of my professional life.”

Before this, Thomas Tuchel confessed that he was optimistic. After transforming him from a peripheral player into a stalwart of his Chelsea defense since taking over as head coach a year ago, Rudiger was well aware of his respect for his efforts, which he shared with him.

In response to a question after the victory about how difficult it would be to replace a player like Rudiger, Tuchel said: “There are a lot of ifs in your question, so let’s see what becomes a reality. We are confident in our ability to retain him and have something to offer him. He is the player he is when he wears a Chelsea jersey and is in the Chelsea atmosphere, and vice versa. I believe he is well aware of this.”

Jamie Redknapp’s advice for Chelsea

Jamie Redknapp, of Sky Sports, has urged the Chelsea administration to pay attention to Rudiger’s demands and sign him as soon as possible, citing the financial outlay necessary to buy a substitute of comparable quality.

“You have to sign him up. If you let him leave in the summer, you’ll have to spend £50 million to replace him, and you’ll also have to pay that player a lot of money because he’s a star. Chelsea would be better served by signing him and informing him of how important he is to the club’s success going forward. It’s all right in front of him. Because the owner has always spent a lot of money, he will be able to realise all of his goals. They need to have him registered as soon as possible,” Jamie Redknapp said.

Ashley Cole concurred with Redknapp’s assessment

“It’s essential to maintain guys like Rudiger with that character,” he said in an interview with Sky Sports. “You can’t afford to lose top-tier players like him from your team’s locker room. He is capable of anything. He can initiate assaults, is courageous, and displays personality when on the ball. It’s difficult to defeat him in a one-on-one situation. He’s developing into a leader, and even though he may be irritable at times, the supporters like him. That is what distinguishes him as a person.

We are not privy to any discussions that take place between his agent and Chelsea. We don’t know how far the discussions have progressed so far this year. However, from the outside looking in, his performances suggest that he should remain a Chelsea player,” Cole stated.

Antonio Rudiger will not sign a new deal at Chelsea – no matter how much the club offer him, talkSPORT understands.

Rudiger has been a standout performer for Chelsea this season and one of the clubs most important players, but he could leave the club at the end of the season as his contract expires.

It is no secret that his preference would be to stay, but there has been a number of top clubs show an interest in getting a possible deal done at the end of the season, which has left many Chelsea fans shocked at the fact he could leave

Now talkSPORT transfer inside Alex Crook has now provided an update which doesn’t make great reading for Blues fans. Asked if he could stay, Crook responded: “I don’t think so, Jim.

“We know his advisors have been in talks with the likes of Real Madrid and PSG.

“I was told several weeks ago that it didn’t matter how much money Chelsea threw at him, his heart was set on a move to Real Madrid.

“We’ve seen numerous high profile examples – maybe Cristiano Ronaldo the highest of them all – of when a big club like Real Madrid come in for you it’s very difficult to keep them out of their clutches.”

Rudiger is one of the very best defenders in the game and Chelsea would be massive fools to let him leave, we have said that before and will again. So Fans will be hoping that the board manage to get a contract deal done sooner rather than later as there are a number of top clubs eyeing up a potential deal.

As we said, he is one of the best defenders in the game and Chelsea would be fools to let him leave, especially on a free deal.

Tuchel confident Antonio Rudiger will sign a new deal

Chelsea news: Antonio Rudiger established himself among the best defenders in the Premier League since joining the Blues for £34 million from AS Roma in 2017.

He played 119 league games for the club thus far, scoring eight goals in the process. He helped the Blues win one FA Cup, one UEFA Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup and one UEFA Europa League.

The Germany international is currently in the last year of his contract at Stamford Bridge. The 28-year old year could move away from the club for free in the summer.

Chelsea news: Antonio Rudiger to sign a new contract?

Thomas Tuchel is convinced that Antonio Rudiger will sign a new contract at the club. Speaking to journalists, he said: “Things are clear. Talks are going on and we are confident

Chelsea news: Thomas Tuchel confident Antonio Rudiger will sign a new deal

Nothing has changed. Everybody knows the situation, let’s wait and see. We have things to offer and he is the player he is in a Chelsea shirt and a Chelsea environment. He knows that very well.”

Rudiger is a vital member of Thomas Tuchel’s side. He scored the Blues’ only goal as they defeated Spurs 1-0 in the second leg of the EFL Cup semi-finals on Thursday. They will now play either Liverpool or Arsenal in the final of the competition on February 27.

Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain have shown interest in signing Rudiger on a free transfer. Apart from Rudiger, César Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen are other defenders who are in the final years of their respective contracts at the club. Tuchel could be seen signing an entirely new backline in the summer if they fail to reach an agreement with their defensive trio.

Chelsea revive their interest in Sevilla Jules Kounde

The Blues linked heavily with Sevilla defender Jules Kounde in last summer’s transfer window. But they failed to meet Sevilla’s €80 million valuation for the France international

It is now reported that the London-based club have revived their interest in Kounde. Thomas Tuchel wants the 23-year old to arrive at Stamford Bridge this month as they look set to chase Manchester City for the league title during the second half of the season.

However, Liverpool and Real Madrid have also shown interest in signing Kounde recently. The Blues need to act faster in order to bring the talented Frenchman to west London.

Apart from Kounde, Juventus’ Matthijs de Ligt and Torino’s Gleison Bremer are other defenders linked with Stamford Bridge recently.

What’s next?

Chelsea are currently sitting second in the English Premier League table with 43 points from 21 games. They will play Manchester City and Brighton and Hove Albion respectively for their next English Premier League fixtures.

Antonio Rüdiger has claimed that media coverage has over-dramatized his current situation at Chelsea

But the German star appears to have played down rumors linking him with an actual exit, telling SportBild that reality is not nearly as spicy as all these rumors make it out to be. (Though obviously that doesn’t mean they’re not true!)

“In the case of transfer rumours, it is well known that the media always like to add a little more salt and pepper to make the headline a bit more explosive and bigger.

“Accordingly, you will not hear from me until the day of the final decision. We still have a lot to do at Chelsea this season, and my full focus at the moment is on the City game. My agent is currently taking care of everything else.”
