Antonio Conte Convinced With Harry Kane’s Involvement In New Spurs Project

Published

on

Tottenham Hotspur News: Antonio Conte is convinced that Harry Kane is the focal point of their new project. This comes in after Kane Spurs held back their star striker from moving this summer.

Harry Kane is said to be frustrated at the lack of trophies he has won with Spurs and wanted a move to a bigger club this summer. Spurs have not won a trophy since 2008 despite coming close on many occasions since then.

The biggest of them came in 2019 when they lost the Champions League final against Liverpool. Another defeat came in the Carabao Cup final in 2020 against Manchester City.

All of this made Kane iffy about his future at the club, and he wanted to leave. Kane believed he had a gentleman’s agreement with the club to leave this summer, but did not get his wish.

Daniel Levy rejected a massive bid from Manchester City to keep him at the club. The arrival of Antonio Conte might just change his thoughts as the Italian looks to build Tottenham into a champion side.

Although Harry Kane has not found his feet in front of goal this season, signs of him improving under Conte have been evident. Kane has scored 4 goals this season, with 3 of them coming under Conte’s reign.

Tottenham Hotspur News: Antonio Conte lauds Daniel Levy for keeping Harry Kane at the club

Conte feels that the star striker is integral to the club’s new project. He also opined that Kane’s commitment this season has not dropped a single bit, and lauded Daniel Levy for keeping him at the club.

“I knew the situation in the summer and, when Harry decided to stay in Tottenham, I found a player totally involved in this project,” Conte said.

He continued, “I am happy to have him in my team because we are talking about the top player, a top striker in the world, and if we want to win or if we want to think to build something to win, Harry must be a point of start.”

He is a point of reference in the dressing room and an experienced player. I am totally enthusiastic about his involvement in the team and the Tottenham project.”

Antonio Conte’s arrival has brought a new lease of life to the club. The Italian is unbeaten in his first 8 Premier League matches, as Spurs aim for a Top-4 place after a horrendous start to their league campaign under Nuno Espirito Gomes.

Tottenham Hotspur have a difficult set of fixtures coming up this week. The North London club will take on their London rivals Chelsea in the two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final. They will follow it up with a clash against Arsenal in the Premier League on the 16th of January, a fixture extremely important in the context of the Top-4 race.

Ajax has Bergwijn’s offer rejected

Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News: Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur is currently chasing Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Adama Traore this January transfer window.

It is especially clear why Antonio Conte’s men would do so given their glaring requirements for an attacking fullback. This void in their squad was quite visible across the two legs against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semifinals.

Tottenham Hotspur failed to stop Chelsea’s barrage down the flanks and couldn’t make much of an impact as well from their side. The Spurs had Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty playing on either flank.

However, both of these players couldn’t advance much and were restricted to their halves. This needs to change and for that reason, Antonio Conte is so desperate to get hold of Adama Traore from Wolves.

Tottenham Hotspur Transfer News: Spurs reject Ajax bid for Steven Bergwijn

Tottenham Hotspur News: Ajax has Steven Bergwijn’s offer rejected.

Amidst their pursuit for Adama Traore, Tottenham Hotspur has rejected Ajax’s offer for Steven Bergwijn. According to the latest reports, Ajax’s initial offer of €18 million has been rejected by Tottenham.

Although Steven Bergwijn has hardly been impactful for Tottenham Hotspur since joining, Antonio Conte still trusts him. The Italian coach said he’s waiting for Bergwijn to return from injury and believes in him.

Bergwijn, he knows very well what I think about him. I consider him a player that can play all the three roles, as a number 9 and number 10,” Conte said in a press conference.

In my period at Tottenham, he was injured for a long time. But I showed him that when he is in the good physical condition I gave him a chance. He is a Tottenham player and he is very close to coming back. After the game with Chelsea, he can start a training session.

“I can count on him. He is a player with different characteristics than Harry [Kane], [Heung-Min] Son, and [Lucas] Moura, he is a player we don’t have in our squad.”

However while Antonio Conte wants him to stay, Tottenham can be open to letting him go. But all of this depends on whether Ajax can provide them sufficient money for the transfer. Additionally, Bergwijn came to Tottenham Hotspur for £25 million from PSV Eindhoven, so they will look to at least make that much.

Obviously, this move makes sense from a financial standpoint. Tottenham Hotspur will try to make as much as possible from Steven Bergwijn and use it to fund Adama Traore.

After the disappointment in the Carabao Cup, Tottenham has a tough run of games. They will be facing Arsenal, Leicester City, and Chelsea in their next three fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur interested in Jesse Lingard

Manchester United News: Jesse Lingard wants to move away from Manchester United and it’s not breaking news. The United academy graduate is struggling for game time and even to make the squad on match days.

According to reports, Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur has decided to make a move for the struggling star. They have contacted Jesse Lingard’s representatives over a move to north London.

The 29-year-old’s contract expires at Old Trafford in the summer and that means he can talk to other clubs regarding a move. The transfer of Lingard might not happen in January because he will be available for free in January.

Jesse Lingard’s previous loan club, West Ham United, is interested in bringing him back permanently. The England international displayed some scintillating on loan at the London Stadium last season on loan.

Manchester United News: Lingard needs more playing time

Lingard fell down the pecking order at the club after the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, as well as the lack of defensive midfielder in the team. Mcfred (Mctominay/Fred) has to do the job in the midfield which means fewer attacking players on the pitch for United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer kept Lingard and promised him more game time after his brilliant loan spell with the Hammers. However, the promise turned out to be a farce and Ole was sacked because of the team’s poor run.

Manchester United News: What does Lingard bring to the team?

The midfielder is described as someone who can take the best runs behind the defenses, with or without the ball. Lingard is quick and with his acceleration, he always creates space between him and the defenders.

The quality of holding the ball even in the attacking third can make him valuable to any squad. The midfielder manages to pass the ball with more than 85% pass accuracy.

The United number 14 is a delight to watch when he runs with the ball. There are multiple occasions where he has come with a goal out of nothing. His goal against Watford at their home in the 17/18 campaign, Lingard’s technical ability, was on full display.

The midfielder received the ball in his own third and kept going, bypassing several defenders along the way before he scored. He scored a similar against Leicester in the Community shield as well.

What does the report say?

Football. London reports that Spurs are in touch with Lingard’s representatives over a potential move. Spurs want the deal to happen in the summer but won’t be reluctant to sign in January if the opportunity arrives.

Spurs believe that Lingard’s versatility will be an asset to them, as the Manchester-born midfielder can play in multiple positions in the forward line. They are also looking at Lingard to help with their homegrown player status. It will bolster Spurs’ British numbers.

Conte recently held a meeting with Tottenham Hotspur’s board over January transfer plans. The former Chelsea manager has met with chairman Daniel Levy (chairman) and Fabio Paratici (Director of Football) to give his assessment of the squad.

Speaking ahead of Spurs EFL Cup game against Chelsea, Conte said: “I spoke with the club and I had my thoughts about the situation and this is the most important thing. Then the club has to decide the best way to go. I don’t have expectations. I am a coach and I know that we have to solve many problems. For me, the most important thing was to speak to the club. I did this and now the club has to decide what we have to do.

It was Conte’s first meeting with the Spurs board over transfer plans. He believed to have the full support of the club’s board in the transfer market.
