Andreas Pereira: Manchester United have proposal to consider from Flamengo – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United star Andreas Pereira may find himself staying permanently in Brazil if everything goes to plan, according to the latest reports.

The midfielder is currently on loan with Flamengo and it seems they’re keen on making his stay permanent after being impressed.

TNT Sports Brasil tweeted: “According to our Fred Caldeira calculation, the English club should play hard and release the athlete in a deal around 10M eFred! The player is happy at Flamengo and thinks about continuing.”

Whereas Fred Caldeira himself tweeted a further clarification: “To clarify: the initial proposal did not reach €10M, which Man Utd sees as the minimum to negotiate at the moment. Remembering that the loan until the middle of the year came with the option to buy in the amount of €20M.”

The above tweets have been translated and so are naturally a little harder to read but the points remain.

United included an option to buy in Pereira’s loan deal which was set at €20m when the deal was first struck.

It seems strange they did so as not many clubs in Brazil can afford to spend that amount, especially in a Covid-hit world.

Subsequently, Flamengo are hoping to get Pereira for cheaper and so made an initial proposal to the Red Devils for his signature.

Manchester United are seemingly open to selling him for cheaper than the initial €20m but in order to open talks and show they’re serious, the Brazilian side has to at least put in €10m.

It’s likely given either side’s stances, a deal will probably be struck for something in the middle, around €15m, although that is speculation.

Andreas Pereira: Manchester United respond to Flamengo bid – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have reportedly made a decision on Andreas Pereira‘s future following interest from Flamengo.

The academy product is currently on loan with the South American club but it seems he’s impressed enough to make them want to sign him permanently.

Journalist Rudy Galetti claimed that the Red Devils have turned down Flamengo’s permanent offer for Pereira, though an improved offer is expected soon.

The Peoples Person previously covered Flamengo’s £8m bid for Pereira and presumably that’s the bid Manchester United turned down.

It’s understood the Brazilian has a £16m buy option included in his loan deal so it’s no surprise United turned down an offer that’s worth half of that.

Fans will likely be disappointed with the decision as Pereira has no real future at the club and funds are needed at the moment.

It’s been said many times that the Red Devils haven’t made any moves in the transfer market so far because of a lack of outgoings.

It’s understood only some sales will see purchases made or if summer transfer targets suddenly become available for reasonable fees.

Given Manchester United’s desperate need for a defensive midfielder, it’s surprising to see the club turn down a decent offer.

This is particularly true because Brazilian clubs don’t tend to have large transfer budgets and United are running the risk of losing out on much-needed money.

The Red Devils turned down interest in Jesse Lingard because they felt they would get more money elsewhere but that dream offer never came in and now they’ll lose him for free.

Flamengo offer Manchester United £8m for the permanent transfer of Andreas Pereira – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira could be leaving the club on a permanent transfer, with Flamengo actively negotiating a deal.

It has recently been reported that the Brazilian club would like to make his current loan deal a permanent switch, but at a cut price.

The existing deal has an option to purchase at £16 million, but Flamengo claim that the price is unrealistic for them and have bid just £8m.

According to The Sun, any bid that comes under the option to buy is very unlikely to be accepted by the Man United board.

Pereira has been a regular starter for Flamengo this season. And whilst the bid is half of the price of the option to purchase clause, they may be hoping that United decide to cut and run, given their need to raise funds for a defensive midfielder in this window.

The Brazil international had some interest in the summer from Lazio, the Italian club he was on loan with last season, but the club failed to meet the £21m option to buy included in the loan deal.

The Sun further claims that Turkish club Fenerbahçe have also made their interest in the midfielder known to United.

Since arriving at Old Trafford, the 26-year-old has gone out on loan to Spanish clubs Valencia and Granada.

Upon his return to the club, he scored four goals and assisted five in 75 appearances in all competitions.

However, since the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, he has been out of favour and has had a couple more spells out on loan.

According to Sport Witness, the Red Devils have made it a priority to sell Pereira and are not interested in sending him out on loan again once he returns to the club in June.

The outlet concludes by saying that the club is expecting many offers for the midfielder, who has a contract until 2023, with some European clubs reported to be heavily interested in him.

United fans will be hoping the club can receive a good fee for Pereira but will want him sold early rather than have another player run down their contract.

Andreas Pereira: Flamengo hope to seal move for Manchester United star – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United star Andreas Pereira may be on his way out of the club permanently, as Flamengo have registered their interest in him.

The versatile midfielder has been away in Brazil on loan all season and there have been doubts over whether he can ever regain his spot back in England.

According to Sport Witness, Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz said: “It is already known that Flamengo will try, at the right time, at the right time, to sign the player permanently. We have to proceed slowly, carefully, so that it’s the best for Flamengo.”

Goal Brasil claim the loan included a buying option of €20m but Flamengo don’t want to spend that much and hope to negotiate a fee less than €10m.

It’s said the Brazilian club are hoping Pereira’s desire to create history with them and not jump from club to club will help them in securing his signature.

The academy product is a part of a group of United players who no longer seem to have a role to play in the post-Ole Gunnar Solskjaer era.

The legendary Norwegian had a bloated squad and it’s one Ralf Rangnick has made clear is keen to trim.

Given how Pereira was loaned out under Solskjaer’s management, it’s unlikely the German manager will be interested in having him back.

It’s far more likely that Rangnick will want to move the Brazilian on in order to bulk up any future transfer budget.

However, it’s not been made clear whether or not less than €10m will be accepted by the Red Devils despite the obvious need for a sale.

Manchester United are understood to be in the market for a midfielder but even if Pereira was good enough for the club, it’s not likely he will want to return.

After all, he’s spent plenty of time in the past on the bench and will likely want regular minutes at a club that trusts him to produce the goods.
