A look at Nashville SC’s preseason 2022 schedule in Florida

Published

on

For a third consecutive year, Nashville SC is headed to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for preseason camp.

The MLS club will travel this weekend to begin camp Monday. This will kick off the first of three preseason phases. The first period concludes Jan. 28, followed by a brief return to Nashville through Feb. 5. The final phase spans from Feb. 6 – Feb. 18 in Tampa, Florida. Nashville’s 2022 regular season begins Feb. 27 at Seattle Sounders FC.

During preseason, Nashville expects to play five friendly matches. Two opponents have yet to be determined as of Friday, when Nashville released its schedule.

Nashville playing half of its preseason matches would be an improvement from 2021, given the club was forced to cancel four matches, due to COVID-19 concerns or travelling issues from other teams.

Here is the 2022 preseason schedule:

Jan. 28: vs. TBD, time and location is TBD

Feb. 8: vs. Charlotte FC; 2 p.m.; IMG Academy, Bradenton, Fla.

Feb. 12: vs. TBD; time and location is TBD

Feb. 15: vs. FC Cincinnati; 11 a.m.; Clearwater, Fla.

Feb. 18: vs. Philadelphia Union; 11 a.m.; Clearwater, Fla.

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

Sporting Kansas City have acquired left back Logan Ndenbe from EA Guingamp in the French second tier on a permanent transfer, the club announced Friday. Ndenbe signs through 2024 with a club option for 2025.

Ndenbe, 21, is a Belgian youth international, representing his country from U-17 through U-21. He broke through at KV Oostende in his native Belgium before moving to Guingamp in the summer of 2020, where he’s made 27 appearances in Ligue 2. He was a regular with Belgium this fall in qualifying for the U-21 European Championship.

The rising talent is the second left back acquired by SKC this winter, following MLS veteran Ben Sweat via free agency. The changes come after SKC often deployed the since-departed Luis Martins there in 2021.

Former Chelsea striker Alexandre Pato has re-signed with Orlando City on a one-year deal.

The Brazilian would go on to make five appearances for the Lions, including in the Club’s Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs match against Nashville SC.

Pato took to Twitter on Saturday to announce he was staying with Orlando for another season as he looks to get his career back on track.

‘A new year, a new goal!’ he tweeted.

‘After a year of much learning and overcoming. We will go again together!’

Orlando is the ninth club Pato has played for in his professional career which includes a loan spell at Chelsea.

Pato joined Chelsea in January 2016 but did not make his debut until April. Brought on as a substitute against Aston Villa, he won a penalty and converted, scoring his only goal for the club.

He would go on to make just one more appearance for the London club before returning to his parent side Corinthians.

Pato’s career started with him being heralded as a star of the future but consistent injuries has seen his stock in the game fall.

He began his career at Internacional before switching to Milan.

Pato scored 51 goals in 117 games but returned to Brazil in 2013.

The 32-year-old has won five club trophies in his career including the FIFA Club World Cup, two Recopa Sudamericanas and the Italian Scudetto.
