Thomas Tuchel believes midfielder can impact in the rest of the season

Chelsea News: The Blues continued their dominance in the FA Cup with a comprehensive 5-1 victory over Chesterfield in the third round. Callum Hudson-Odoi, Timo Werner, Romelu Lukaku and Hakim Ziyech and Andreas Christensen scored for the hosts.

It was a good practice game for Chelsea, as they will find a lot of confidence from that performance. Moreover, with the Manchester City game close, they need to be in the best of spirits.

While many argue Thomas Tuchel fielded a pretty strong team for Chesterfield, it needs to be acknowledged that this is still a trophy Chelsea is fighting for.

However, one person who was expected to start against Chesterfield made only an appearance off the bench. Ross Barkley was almost sure to start, but Thomas Tuchel preferred Saul Niguez over the English international.

Chelsea News: Thomas Tuchel thinks Ross Barkley can be useful for the Blues

Chelsea News : Thomas Tuchel believes midfielder can impact in the rest of the season

It has definitely been a troublesome period for Ross Barkley, whose playing time has been erratic, to say the least. But yet again, the problem which arises with Barkley is just the amount of quality Chelsea have.

When you have the likes of Mason Mount, N’golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic- where exactly do you fit? Additionally, Ruben Loftus Cheek has also looked decent since coming back and he basically competes for the same position.

However, Thomas Tuchel has not ruled out that they may still need Ross Barkley’s services. The German coach acknowledged that the season is long, and every player is important.

We haven’t discussed it yet [a loan deal]. It depends what Ross wants and what possibilities there are and what makes sense. Let’s see.The situation has not changed, not for Ross, not for anybody else,” he said.

There’s always a chance it is not like it is the FA Cup and here’s your chance. There’s always a chance to make it onto the pitch, especially with a lot of COVID and injury cases.”

Thomas Tuchel focuses on future games

Furthermore, Thomas Tuchel hinted at that players needed the playing time with the games they have upcoming. This is a clear indication that Tuchel has his mind occupied with the Spurs and City matches.

We have tough matches coming up. It is a different level of intensity if you play Premier League teams or against a fifth division team.It was important to share the minutes and give some players rest to be in the best shape possible for the upcoming games.”

Chelsea will be up against Tottenham Hotspur in the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals. The Blues are currently 2-0 ahead in the tie courtesy of goals from Kai Havertz and an own goal by Davies in the first tie.

Spanish publication Nacional claims that Newcastle have made a £33 million offer plus another £8.3 million in variables to attempt to bring Hazard back to the Premier League..

Furthermore, the £43.1 million offer from Newcastle met the expectations of Madrid president Florentino Perez, who accepted their offer.

The reports also claim that Hazard is not keen on a move to Newcastle, but the offer of enormous wages could yet convince Hazard into a re-think. And a loan deal with a view to a permanent move this summer a likely outcome.

Chelsea have opened talks to sign PSG star Kurzawa

Chelsea have opened talks with Paris Saint-Germain to bring Layvin Kurzawa to Stamford Bridge on loan for the rest of the season

Now it is no secret in the media that Thomas Tuchel has had a number of issues with injuries to some key players, meaning that he has to delve into this transfer kitty and sign a new defender or two

And Tuchel wants another option at left-back to compete with Marcos Alonso and it looks like Kurzawa is likely to be it, with the Frenchman out of contention at PSG.

The 29-year-old has played 153 games for PSG since joining from Monaco in 2015 but has fallen down the pecking order and has not made a single Ligue 1 appearances this season under Mauricio Pochettino.

Now reports on the RMC Sport report that talks have begun over a loan switch, with PSG happy to let him leave and the short-term deal curing a headache for Tuchel at left-back.

IcFootballnews View…

Look, Chelsea do not need to spend alot of money and bring in some world class player, they already have Ben Chilwell, so when he comes back, they will be ok in that position

If the reports are true and Chelsea are closing in on a deal for Kurzawa until the end of the season, then it will be a very good bit of business as he will help them finish off the season.

The Blues are well behind in that title race and if they get anymore injuries, they may have trouble getting into the top four, all the clubs below them are coming fast.

So fans will be hoping that Kurzawa is not the only player that arrives at Chelsea in the coming weeks.
