Shearer says Rashford is playing like a ‘chore’

Manchester United News: Marcus Rashford is struggling to find form this season and it’s not looking good for the academy graduate so far.

The number 10 is looking like a shadow of his previous seasons and not able to impact games at all.

The England international was criticized by former Newcastle striker Alan Shearer after another below par for him against Aston Villa.

The record Premier League goalscorer accused Rashford of playing football like it’s a “chore” after a difficult season.

The forward’s decline is so much that fans are not able to believe it. He was in brilliant form throughout the last season and United hoped of an even better season from him this time around.

Rashford scored 21 goals in the last campaign. However, his tally this season is at three only. The forward was given the chance to impress the fans and the manager against Aston Villa in FA Cup, but he failed big time.

Playing at his preferred left-wing position, he was ghosting the entire game. United started the game and was rewarded instantly. Scott McTominay popped up in the box with a brilliant header from a pinpoint Fred cross.

The goal was the winner in the end as United moved on into the next round. Apart from the goal, United’s performance was very poor.

Manchester United News: What did Shearer have to say?

Alan Shearer is one of the most respected pundits around the world. He gave his own input on what he thought is happening with the striker. Rashford was substituted in the 80th minute.

Elanga, who replaced him did more in 10 minutes to affect the game than him. The former England striker Shearer believes that it’s the lack of confidence that’s hurting Rashford.

He added: “I know about his injuries. I can understand why the injuries have hampered his confidence. He is doing amazing work off the pitch. Shearer said on the BBC.”

“However, throughout the season it’s looking like a chore. Suddenly, it’s very hard work for him. He seems a bit distracted and not enjoying his football completely.”

However, Shearer also emphasized that he can totally understand that. According to him, it’s a learning curve and he will learn to get over it.

Manchester United News: Rashford came out on social media and defended himself after his loyalty was questioned following a 1-0 loss against the Wolves.

He posted on his Twitter: “Our recent performances have been disappointing. However, we are also disappointed with the media coverage which questions our commitment to the club and the manager.”

“I have respect for both, and I want to improve with the help of the coaching staff here at Manchester United.”

Wayne Rooney interview: Manchester United legend gives his first impression of the team under Ralf Rangnick – Man United News And Transfer News

Wayne Rooney has displayed concerns over Manchester United’s new system under Ralf Rangnick.

In an interview with Alan Shearer (The Athletic), Rooney gave his first impressions of United’s new playing style under the German coach.

“I’ve been to a few games, taken my kids. Obviously, it’s been difficult for them. I think it had got to the point with Ole where everyone could see it was coming to an end.

“With the new manager now, you don’t know. I’m sure it’s a lot different to anywhere he has managed before. There’s a lot more pressure, managing a lot of high-profile players.”

However, he felt that this system would be tested by a stronger opponent.

“I was at his first game against Crystal Palace and I thought they looked very good. My only concern, with that shape, was that when you come up against better teams — Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal — you could get punished.”

“The most important thing is that the players need to buy into it. He needs to get them working as a group rather than as individuals.”

Rangnick suffered his first defeat on Monday night against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford. United struggled to keep up with Wolves’ midfield and were dominated in the middle of the park.

Rooney’s assessment of the formation makes sense and Rangnick could opt to revert to a three-man midfield.

The former United striker has taken over the near-impossible task of managing Derby who are on the brink of relegation to the third tier of English football.

The Rams were handed a 12 point deduction by the EFL for breaching financial fair play rules. In November they were penalised another 9 after the club admitted to breaches of Profitability and Sustainability (P&S) rules.

The penalty takes Derby’s total deductions for the 2021-22 season to 21 points. Rooney’s side is currently punching way above their weight, losing just five games.

“For the players, it’s a chance to create a legacy,” said Rooney. ” It’s a chance to create history. Nobody has ever done it before, from minus 21 points, and stayed up.”

“It’s an opportunity to become heroes with the fans. You could argue it would be the greatest achievement in the club’s history.”

“There might not be a trophy at the end of the season for us to lift but, if we did stay up, it would be a massive achievement.”

Alan Shearer trolls two Manchester United players following the game against Newcastle United

Manchester United News: The Red Devils drew against Newcastle United on Monday. And it seems like the Premier League legend Alan Shearer enjoyed the result very much.

Newcastle United had the better of the chances in the game but were denied by David de Gea’s heroics. On the other end, Edinson Cavani cancelled out Allan Saint-Maximin’s strike to get a point for United.

Every point is important for Newcastle United at the moment as they are struggling in the Premier League. The Tyneside club just have 11 points from their 19 games. Owing to this, they currently occupy the 19th spot in the Premier League table.

The Manchester United supporters, on the other hand, would be feeling sad about the 2 points lost. The Red Devils are in a fight for fourth place and this result would not help the club very much.

What did Alan Shearer do?

The Premier League legend and former Newcastle United superstar was very happy following the result against Manchester United. After the win, Shearer trolled a couple of players and even Manchester United.

Alan Shearer was active throughout the game on Twitter. He was seemingly ecstatic after Newcastle United went into halftime with the lead. Shearer again tweeted after full time, writing about the cracking atmosphere. He also mentioned that Manchester United were “very average” on the night.

The former Newcastle United superstar wouldn’t stop there. He would also go on to troll Fred and Raphael Varane in a Twitter exchange with another Twitter account.

A Twitter account named @statmandave tweeted praises about Fred’s performance in the first half. To this, Alan Shearer replied the following from his Twitter account “Are you sure you were watching the same game as I was?”

Alan Shearer was also critical of Raphael Varane’s performance in the game. @statmandave tweeted about how Varane has redeemed himself after a bad start. But this tweet was deleted later.

But the record Premier League striker didn’t agree with the said tweet. Hence, he just replied with a simple “eyes” emoji for the same.

The Red Devils were just not good enough!

Ralf Rangnick’s team was just not good enough on the night. And the Manchester United manager agreed with the statement. The interim manager believed that the team made too many errors in the game. And this ultimately led to Newcastle United’s first goal as well.

Manchester United should be indebted to David de Gea for saving their blushes on the night. The Spaniard was once again the best player for United on the night. His saves in the second half proved crucial as Ralf Rangnick’s team came out of the game with at least one point.

Alan Shearer gives his VERDICT on TITLE RACE

Manchester City news: City will head into Christmas being on top of the Premier League table. Pep Guardiola’s recorded another convincing victory against Newcastle United with a 4-0 win.

Ruben Dias, Riyad Mahrez, Joao Cancelo and Raheem Sterling all got on the scoresheet for the visitors. With this win Manchester City have recorded 34 wins in this calendar year which is a record.

Moreover, Manchester City have recently been boosted by the return of their Belgian talisman Kevin De Bruyne. The midfielder is looking really good since coming back this season after his injury issues.

Additionally, we must also note that although Kevin De Bruyne has got on his scoring boots, he hasn’t made a single assist in the Premier League. This just shows that even without Kevin De Bruyne, City are not too worried.

This is just a compliment on how good Spanish international Rodri and Portuguese Bernardo Silva have been this season. It’s kind of similar to what Ilkay Gundogan did last year in De Bruyne’s absence.

‘There is a LONG WAY to go!’: Alan Shearer

Premier League legend Alan Shearer says the title race is still unpredictable and any team can take the trophy home. Although Manchester City have a lead over rivals Chelsea and Liverpool FC, they cans still stumble.

Alan Shearer said that he still feels that Manchester City might not win the title. Chelsea and Liverpool FC are two sides filled with quality and they can make a comeback at any time.

Moreover, Shearer also commented that he expects the positions of these three clubs to change continuously. Adding to that, COVID-19 cases will also play a big role in squad depth and ability to rotate.

Manchester City will be top at Christmas after winning eight straight games, but I don’t think any team will take control of this Premier League title race for a long time yet,” said Shearer.

At the moment, it is City’s turn to make everyone say ‘wow’ at the way they are playing. Some of their football is amazing and they are strolling through many of their matches.

They currently look the team to stop, but I have thought the same about Liverpool and Chelsea at different times this season and I am sure we will soon be talking again how strong those two look.

Manchester City will next be action against Leicester City on Boxing Day. Additionally, they have another good fixture on the first day of 2022 when they will face off against Arsenal.
