Rodrygo’s Brace Helps Real Madrid Win Their 35th LA LIGA TITLE

Real Madrid are now officially the La Liga champions for the 2021/2022 season. They have been crowned champions for the 35th time in the club’s history after defeating Espanyol 4-0.

With still four weeks of match-days remaining, the Los Blancos have sealed their La Liga crown and guaranteed to be on top of the table no matter what. This means that their manager Carlo Ancelloti becomes the first coach to win a title in each of Europe’s top five leagues: adding La Liga to his collection of titles in the Serie A, the Premier League, Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga.

This title becomes even more special for Real Madrid as they are able to lift the trophy in the Santiago Bernabeu for the first time since 2007. They have lifted three of their last four titles away from home, while having won a title once with the stadium under construction.

This title is Real Madrid’s second Spanish league title in the space of three years. They lost out to Atletico Madrid once on the final day of the season. This has been a period of dominance in Spain for Real Madrid, after Barcelona dominated the last decade in the Spanish top flight.

Real Madrid have now won the league title a total of 35 times, nine times more than their fierce rivals FC Barcelona. Atletico Madrid have also won the title 11 times and are the only other side apart from Barcelona and Real Madrid to win more than 10 La Liga titles.

Real Madrid have not stopped yet at just the La Liga title. The Los Blancos are dreaming of lifting the most prestigious trophy in Europe, the UEFA Champions League. In order to achieve that goal, Real Madrid will have to make a comeback at the Bernabeu on Wednesday against Manchester City. Even though it is a tough task, Madrid have already achieved the feat before, after making a tremendous comeback against Paris Saint Germain.

The Los Blancos have had an outstanding season and European glory will add even more joy to the fans and players.

Barcelona Has Been Declared As The MOST VALUABLE CLUB IN THE WORLD By Forbes

As per FORBES, based on a report from last year, the Catalan giants head the list of MOST VALUABLE clubs. Barcelona has a total net worth of $4.76b as per the report but is considered to be of higher value than any other football club in the world. Barca beat rivals Real Madrid to claim this title, which can be said to be an achievement in itself.

This is according to the prestigious North American business and finance magazine, which ranked Barcelona at no. 1. Real Madrid is a close second priced at $4.75b. The top spot was monopolized by two teams for the last 16 years. The champions of Spain had it five times, while Premier League’s Manchester United was on top for another 11 times.

The world’s 20 most valuable soccer teams are valued at $2.28b apiece. This is an increase of 30% from a couple of years ago, the last time that FORBES had done this evaluation. This was a positive thing for the game itself, as the pandemic hadn’t really impacted the overall growth of these franchises.

FC Barcelona Is The Most Valuable Club At Present And The Fans Would Be Delighted

Though the club from Spain has been in sort of a financial crisis in recent seasons they have managed to handle it in a smart way. Letting go of Lionel Messi was a great decision, considering that the player has had a poor season. Further, it reduced a lot of the wage bill and Barcelona was able to add more quality in various departments.

Keeping that in mind, this title will be huge for the former champs of Spain. Though they had an average season and may end it on a high, this tag would surely hold true if they can rebuild under Xavi. A lot of things have changed around the Nou Camp in recent times.

However, the tag could surely help them rebuild from scratch. Let’s wait and watch whether Xavi is the right man moving forward or not. Things are looking good at present and the atmosphere is rather positive. Hopefully, it lasts in the upcoming campaigns too!!

Barcelona Striker Aubameyang Bids Adieu To International Football

Former Arsenal and now Barcelona striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has retired from international football. It seems that his fitness issues and lack of stability in his club career were getting to him. The player is 32 at present and could be leaving Camp Nou this summer. Keeping that in mind, Aubameyang has now decided to call it a day.

The star striker made a total of 72 appearances for Gabon. He scored 30 goals for them. Eventually, he wrote an emotional letter to fans explaining his decision to retire.

The Letter That Aubameyang Wrote To The Fans As To Why He Is Retiring

Aubameyang said, “After 13 years of pride in representing my country, I announce that am ending my international career. Would like to thank the Gabonese people and all those who have supported me in the good and the bad times.”

“Will keep a lot of good memories like the day I made my debut at Romnisports. Or also the day I came back from Nigeria with the African Ballon d’Or. Sharing these memories with all the people was an unforgettable moment. I thank our President, his Excellency Ali Bongo Ondimba who has always supported the Panthers. He has always worked for football to evolve in our country.”

“Would also like to thank all my coaches, staff and the players that I have come across during this career. Finally, I thank my father who gave me the desire to do like him. Hoping to have made him proud by wearing our colours.”

What Is The Issue That Might Have Forced This Decision?

Aubameyang had lost his form at Arsenal since the last term. He regained some of that confidence this season with Barcelona. However, the financial situation of the Catalan giants is such that they will not be able to afford his wages at present. He may be asked to leave at the end of the campaign.

This surely creates a lot of doubt as to which club he could join. Things have been a bit up and down at present and it will be interesting to see how things develop. For now, the attacker must be feeling the extra pressure and he also missed last year’s AFCON after a COVID positive result. It created a lot of stir in the media and the fans were talking about it.

He has had a lot of issues with his indiscipline right through his career too. Further, the player has lost some of his pace too and his finishing has taken a slight hit too. A lot of these factors may have contributed to this huge call, as he may feel that he has done all that he could.

Whether it was the right one or not, remains to be seen. Let’s wait and watch!!
