Reds prepared to sign Federico Valverde from Real Madrid for €80M

Liverpool News: Liverpool are ready to bring in Federico Valverde from Real Madrid. With this, they will end Federico’s nightmare time at the Spanish giants.

Federico is not getting much game-time under the new manager Carlo Ancelotti. Real Madrid have also signed Eduardo Camavinga for €40m (£34.4m) in the summer.

The signing of Camavinga made sure that it ended Manchester United’s and Liverpool’s chances of signing the midfielder. Meanwhile, Federico Valverde, Isco, and co would also not get much playing time this season.

Federico Valverde earns a whopping €81,000/week (£68k/week) at the Santiago Bernabeu. He is out of favor and not in the dream team which Ancelotti wants at the Los Blancos.

Liverpool did not sign anybody after the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum after his contract came to an end. This was something Liverpool should have taken care of before the start of the season.

It is something that Liverpool repents to date and are still unable to find Wijnaldum’s replacement. He was such an impactful player for the Red’s and nobody could forget his contribution in the Semi-final defeat to Barcelona at Anfield.

Liverpool are struggling in the midfield area and they desperately need someone who can be a mainstay. The Gaffer Jurgen Klopp, his coaching staff, and FSG are very close to the situation but should be in a way better position to take these calls.

Federico Valverde is frustrated with his position at Madrid and wants to be a key player. But he finds himself with fewer starts than he did under Zinedine Zidane.

Liverpool News: How can Federico Valverde suit Liverpool

He is undoubtedly what Liverpool needs right now amongst their ranks. Federico is a great mix between being nasty and smart. It was his sacrificial tackle on Alvaro Morata in the Supercopa final for which he got a red card. It was also a very obvious professional foul anybody can make under those circumstances. Klopp would never ask his players to do anything like this but that tackle earned Real Madrid a trophy.

Liverpool are a club that gets a lot of hate from the rival clubs across Europe. They are a squad that plays with much intensity and that shows in their games. But sometimes they are unable to break the shackles and this is where Federico would come in handy. According to El Nacional, Liverpool have already prepared their bid for Federico Valverde which goes as high as €80million.

Jordan Henderson who is getting old is the mainstay of the Liverpool midfield. But Naby Keita has not been able to make a point at Anfield. Fabinho has impressed with his style of play but Thiago still needs more game time which will enhance his playing style.

If Liverpool somehow lands Federico Valverde in their ranks then they will have a huge boost for the rest of the season. They need stability in the midfield region which a street smart player like Valverde could bring.

Ronaldo Played a Key Role in the Signings of Rafael and Fabio

Manchester United News: Cristiano Ronaldo had a big role to play in the signings of former United defenders Rafael and Fabio Da Silva. Even though the then Portuguese youngster was enduring a ‘difficult’ spell at Old Trafford himself of his own when he arrived.

Sir Alex Ferguson asked the five-time Ballon d’Or winner to call the Brazilian twins when they were raw teenage prospects. Ronaldo obliged and made the phone call. The phone call is said to have played a huge role in their move to United and snubbing other clubs.

The twin brother had a trophy-laden career at the club, even though Fabio didn’t play as much he hoped for. Rafael made 170 appearances for United whereas Fabio played 56 times for the Red Devils.

However, Ronaldo’s current situation at the time was extremely uncertain, as he admitted the British weather had made it ‘difficult’ for him to acclimatize.

Manchester United News: What did Ronaldo say then?

Manchester United News: Ronaldo played a key role in the signings of Rafael and Fabio.

Talking to Sky Sports in 2006, Ronaldo said that he loves playing for United. He also talked about how he doesn’t like the weather in the city much.

He added: “The weather was very difficult for me. In Manchester, you always see rain and snow. When I compare it with Portugal, it’s very difficult. Portugal is full of the sun every day and that’s why Manchester is difficult for me. But the club is massive and I’m very happy to stay here.”

The superstar was linked to La Liga for several seasons before eventually leaving the club for Real Madrid. The winger from Madeira sealed a record-breaking £80million move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2009.

However, the legacy of the player is not restricted to only his trophies and personal accolades. He won a Ballon d’Or title, the Champions League, three Premier League titles, two League Cups, and the FA Cup. His role in the signing of Rafael and Fabio can’t be undermined as well.

Both the brothers played in the same team as Ronaldo, winning three Premier League titles and two League Cups at Old Trafford. However, all this won’t have happened if not for the phone call from the Portuguese superstar.

What did Rafael have to say?

Rafael was talking to the UTD Podcast recently where he mentioned the call. Rafael said: “I’ll never forget the phone call from him. I received an international call with all the zeros on my screen. I picked up and asked, Who is this? I didn’t know whom to expect because I’ve never received a call like this. I answered, and I knew him because I’d trained with him before.”

“He just said: ‘Ah, [Portuguese greeting]!’ I ran to my bus saying: ‘It’s Ronaldo, it’s Ronaldo! He’s calling us to speak!’

He just said: ‘You must be knowing that it’s always raining, it’s raining here in Manchester. I am calling to say to you guys that sign for Manchester United. I am sure that both of you are going to like it,’ et cetera.

It was simply unbelievable. It was hard to believe that I got the call from him. It was amazing.

Blues could miss out on Frenkie De Jong as Bayern Munich want him in January

Chelsea News: The Blues have been interested in signing Barcelona’s midfielder, Frenkie de Jong. But as per the latest reports, Bayern Munich are looking to swoop in for the midfielder in January.

Barcelona are looking to rebuild their squad under Xavi Hernandez in the summer. But the lack of funds has hampered the debt-ridden club. Owing to this, they may release a few “high-earners” from their squad in 2022.

As per reports, one of Europe’s most talented midfielders, Frenkie de Jong, is also on this list. Barcelona believe that they can get more than €50 million for the Dutch midfielder. Hence, this would help them in rebuilding their squad.

Owing to this, the Spanish giants have listed the midfielder in their transfer list. As of now, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are said to be interested in signing the midfielder.

Bayern Munich to fight Chelsea for Frenkie de Jong’s signature

Chelsea News: Blues could miss out on Frenkie De Jong as Bayern Munich want him in January

As per talksport, Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have made contact with Barcelona for the services of the Dutchman. Hence, this could be a deal-breaker for Chelsea.

Bayern Munich reportedly want to sign the midfielder in January itself. But they wouldn’t mind waiting until the summer if they cannot agree to personal terms with the club and the player in the next few days.

Chelsea themselves have been interested in Frenkie de Jong but are yet to make a contract with Barcelona yet. The Blues reportedly value the midfielder at €33 million. But this is quite less than Barcelona’s valuation.

As per the report, FC Barcelona reportedly value Frenkie de Jong at €58 million. Hence, they are not looking to sell him for anything less, considering the financial condition of the club as of now.

Bayern Munich reportedly see Frenkie de Jong as a long-term option in their midfield. Hence, they are looking to pay around €50 million to get the midfielder themselves. As of the time of writing, no official bid has been made for the player.

De Jong’s legacy at FC Barcelona

The Dutchman joined Barcelona after leading Ajax to the UEFA Champions League semi-final in 2019. Since joining FC Barcelona, Frenkie de Jong has made 118 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals.

De Jong is still one of the first-choice players in Barcelona’s midfield even though the club are ready to sell him. The Dutchman has made 17 LaLiga appearances and has also started all 6 UEFA Champions League group stage games for the club.

The Copa Del Rey 2020/21 winner has been one of the standout players for Ajax and Barcelona in recent years. Hence, he would be worth every penny if Bayern Munich or Chelsea manage to complete the signing in the coming days.
