Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea LIVE in the Carabao Cup: Preview, Squad News and Dream11 Prediction, TOT vs CHE live streaming, follow for live updates. The second leg of the London derby here with Spurs welcoming Chelsea at home. The Blues managed to win the first leg by a score of 2-0.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea LIVE: Match Preview

Antonio Conte’s side will need a miracle to overcome a 2-0 scoreline. In the last leg, Thomas Tuchel’s side managed to completely dominate Spurs. They would rather be disappointed that they were unable to score more goals. Despite a two-goal lead, they would still not want to take the game lightly.

Conte would prefer that Chelsea bring the game to his side. This would give his side more space to counterattack the visitors. This season Chelsea started very well defensively. However, in recent games, they haven’t been able to keep a clean sheet. Spurs must have taken note of it and will look to exploit it as well.

As for the Blues, they will look to score early in this game in order to dampen Spurs spirit in the game. Chelsea are also aware that a goal from Tottenham at any stage of the game could trigger a comeback. Thus, Tuchel would want his side to focus on a clean sheet. They have already kept a clean sheet at home and a goal away from home will be icing on the cake.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea:  Predicted Line Up

Head to Head Stats

Antonio Conte vs Thomas Tuchel

The two managers have faced each other only once. That was the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. Thomas Tuchel emerged victorious over his Italian counterpart.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea

In recent years, the Blues have had the edge over the Lilly Whites. However, overall Tottenham still has the upper hand over Chelsea. In the 171 games between the two sides, Spurs have won 75. The Blues have won 55 times. The rest of the 41 games between the two sides have ended in a stalemate.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea Live: Players to Watch out for

Tottenham Hotspur: Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Spurs defence will need a lot of protection against Chelsea. Even against Morecambe, they conceded a goal. With the Blues potentially aiming to get the first goal early in the game, Hojbjerg will have to win the midfield battles. If he is able to do that, then the Blues will create fewer chances in the game. However, if he is bypassed easily, the Spurs defence will be again vulnerable.

Chelsea: Antonio Rudiger

Though they did keep a clean sheet in the first leg, their defence has been shaky in recent times. The German will have to be at his best. Chelse have a good attacking unit but they still struggle to finish their chances. With every missed opportunity, Spurs might grow in confidence. Rudiger will have to be alert so that Spurs are not able to get a goal.

No hopes left for a trophy this season

Arsenal News: Arsenal’s last hope for a trophy this season got destroyed after their 0-2 defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup Semi-final. The Reds at the Emirates Stadium. Diogo Jota scored both the goals for Liverpool and secured a spot for them in the Finals.

The Gunners have lost every match this season when they’ve fallen behind. In the Carabao Cup Semi-final, once Diogo Jota opened the scoring in the first half, Arsenal never looked like they will get back in the game. After such a start, the strategy should be to play aggressively and get everyone to fire.

According to Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke: “Arsenal Played with a little bit of fear. They were worried about losing the tie by half-time and they dropped back, which just allowed Liverpool to control the game and the Gunners didn’t lay a glove on them.”

The stats of this season suggest that Arsenal have failed to come back from a 1-0 behind position six times this season. The thing which is more concerning for the Gunners is that they have been behind by 1-0 only six times. This means that they have not been able to come back from a 1-0 situation in any of the matches they played this season.

Arsenal News: No hopes left for a trophy this season.

Arsenal News: Situation of Arsenal under Arteta

Mikel Arteta started well as an Arsenal manager. He led the team to an FA Cup victory in 2019. The team’s performance graph has reduced quite a bit since their FA Cup triumph.

According to Trevor Sinclair, Arsenal’s situation is no better than under Unai Emery. Keeping Arteta’s FA Cup win aside, the Gunners have not improved at all.

“It’s great to have young players in the team, especially boys you’ve developed in the academy, but as a team and threat to major titles, to the top four, I don’t think they’ve improved at all,” said Trevor Sinclair.

One of the biggest upsets for Arsenal this season has been the 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup. Arteta’s men are currently residing at the 6th position in the Premier League, which means Carabao Cup was their last hope for a trophy.

Arsenal’s hope for future

The Gunners have not been a part of the Champions League since 2017. A record that is very unlikely for this type of team. Although it is unlikely to say that they haven’t improved under Arteta. They have shown some grit in this season’s Premier League, going up to 6th position from the 19th position.

However, the team’s performance has not been up to the mark. The team requires some changes in their mentality, temperament, and attitude. The team needs to be more aggressive after a setback and has to change its defensive attitude.

Arteta will be hoping for his team to secure a top 4 spot in the Premier League which can give them a spot in next season’s Champions League. For this, they need to keep winning games.

As of now, their hopes for a trophy this season is finished and now they need to focus on getting a top 4 spot in the Premier League. Arteta and their men will have to play hard to achieve their goal.

Chelsea News: Thomas Tuchel hopes to control his emotions while facing Antonio Conte

Chelsea News: Thomas Tuchel has urged himself to keep his cool while guiding his side from the sidelines. The Chelsea boss let emotions take the better of him during their previous fixture against Brighton.

Tuchel was quite frustrated and angry at several decisions from the referee as Chelsea dropped points yet again in the league. A 1-1 draw against Brighton left them 13 points off Manchester City at the top.

With yet another big fixture coming up against London rivals, Tuchel hopes he is at his best as he looks to guide them to a victory. Tuchel knows it will be difficult to control his emotions in a game of this magnitude but is confident of reigning in his emotions as much as possible.

Thomas Tuchel said, “It doesn’t affect my coaching. You always need to find a good mix between emotions and a cool head, and this is on me like it is for the players.”

“You need to know about the importance of the game. We know what it means to the supporters, to know what it means at the league table, but you cannot get carried away by your emotions.”

“For example on Tuesday at Brighton, we were too much involved in our emotions, like frustration, anger or disappointment. When you play a derby against Tottenham or against an emotional guy like Conte, we cannot play from pure emotions.”

Chelsea News: Thomas Tuchel backed Romelu Lukaku to find his goal-scoring touch very soon

Thomas Tuchel and Lukaku

The German boss also hailed Antonio Conte for the work he has done ever since joining Tottenham. Claiming himself to be a huge fan of Conte, he recognised the dangers Tottenham possess as a team.

Tuchel considered himself very lucky to come up against the genius that is Antonio Conte. Despite coming up on top previously, he knows he needs to focus yet again to get the same result for the third time running.

Thomas Tuchel was also supportive of his struggling striker, Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker has not had the best of times this season, with goals hard to come by. Lukaku has only scored 5 goals this season in the league in 15 appearances.

However, Tuchel has backed him to regain his old form very soon. He cited the example of Harry Kane, who struggled to score goals at the beginning of the season. However, Kane looks to have found his mojo back in the recent games, and Tuchel hoped for something similar from his star No.9

Thomas Tuchel faces a must-win game against Spurs if they are to give themselves some chance to have a run at Manchester City. City dropped points against Southampton and a victory for Chelsea would bring down the deficit to 10 points for the time being.

Chelsea have had the edge over Spurs recently. However, it will be a whole new game as far as the German manager is concerned. The Blues won both their fixtures in the Carabao Cup semi-finals to cement their spot in the finals.

Arteta shares his thoughts following the Carabao Cup exit

Arsenal News: The Gunners bowed out of the Carabao Cup courtesy of a 2-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta shared his thoughts following the defeat on Thursday.

Mikel Arteta’s side started well in the first half but couldn’t capitalize on their early chances. This proved costly for Arsenal as Diogo Jota scored a crucial away goal for Liverpool in the 19th minute.

Arsenal again tried to dominate proceedings in the second half, but Liverpool were resolute in the midfield. Another Diogo Jota strike in the 77th minute ensured a 2-0 victory for the Reds at the Emirates stadium.

The win means that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have now qualified to the finals of the Carabao Cup. Liverpool will go up against Chelsea in the Finals on 28th February at the Wembley stadium.

What did Mikel Arteta say?

Arsenal News: Mikel Arteta shares his thoughts following the Carabao Cup exit at the hands of Liverpool

The Arsenal manager was interviewed after the full-time whistle. When asked the reason for the loss, Mikel Arteta blamed his players for missing early chances.

The Spaniard added that it is not possible to dominate teams like Liverpool for the full 90 minutes. He added that Arsenal started the game very well but they lacked the clinical edge in front of the goal.

Alexandre Lacazette came the closest among the Arsenal players as he hit the bar after a fantastic save from Kelleher in the Liverpool goal. Arsenal eventually lost their morale after Jota scored a goal in the 19th minute.

Mikel Arteta was also asked if his team was still suffering from the effects of injury and Covid. To this, the Spaniard replied that five or six players had not even trained before the Carabao Cup game.

Takehiro Tomiyasu, Bukayo Saka, and Emile Smith-Rowe were among the injury concerns before the game. To add to this, Thomas Partey played in the second half just a couple of days after Ghana’s exit from AFCON.

But the manager did praise the players saying that he didn’t even feel that they were not match fit as they gave their all on the field. Eventually, the manager concluded by saying that he was proud of his team and this loss will help the players learn.

What’s next for the Gunners?

Arsenal has not had the best of months in January. Firstly, Mikel Arteta’s side lost to Nottingham Forest and were hence eliminated from the FA Cup. And now the defeat from Liverpool knocks the North London side out of the Carabao Cup as well.

Mikel Arteta’s team would now shift his attention completely to the Premier League. Arsenal face Burnley, Wolves, and Chelsea in their next three games as they attempt to seal UEFA Champions League football for next season.
