Los Blancos sign a non-aggression pact with Barcelona

Published

Real Madrid News: The Spanish giants have signed a non-aggression pact as per reports. This pact is an agreement that the two clubs will not interfere in the contract renewal of each other’s players.

Barcelona and Real Madrid are no strangers to each other. The two Spanish giants share one of the biggest rivalries in world football. But sometimes this rivalry has also taken place in the transfer window.

Over the years, a few players have switched across from one Spanish giant to another, hence creating a lot of controversies. Luis Enrique, Michael Laudrup, Samuel Eto’o, and Ronaldo de Lima are a few names who have represented both clubs.

But none of the names have created such a big controversy as Luis Figo. The Portuguese was an icon in the eyes of the Barcelona faithful before he chose to switch sides to Real Madrid in 2000. This led to a lot of tension, which eventually resulted in a pig’s head being thrown at the player.

There was recently news that FC Barcelona had agreed on personal terms with Real Madrid’s Isco. The Spanish midfielder has been with Los Merengues since 2013.

The midfielder’s contract ends in six months and as per the rumour, Barcelona were targeting him. This created a lot of waves in the Spanish media with Florentino Perez even hinting that he will try to sign Barcelona players as an act of revenge.

But as per the latest report by Marca, there is mutual respect between Real Madrid’s Florentino Perez and Barcelona’s Joan Laporta. Hence, the duo have made a verbal agreement with one another.

As per the report, both the club presidents have agreed to not interfere with the players who are under contract. But they can, however, continue to sign a player who is out of a contract if they decide to pursue them.

Barcelona and Real Madrid were reportedly in contract with one another for the past few months. These rules were formulated at this time so that the relations between the two powerhouses does not fall out of hand.

This deal was struck before both the club presidents are on the chief planning committee of the European Super League. To add to this, the two clubs have banded together to fight the wayward decisions that the management of LaLiga has taken over the years.

No problems going after players from other clubs

It is understood that both the clubs would not have a problem going after a player from a different club. AC Milan’s Franck Kessie is one example who is currently being monitored by both the Spanish Giants.

To add to this, both Real Madrid and Barcelona are supposedly interested in signing Erling Haaland. Barcelona are in heavy debt but they are looking to release a few players to have a chance in signing the Norwegian.

Barcelona News: Despite Manchester United’s interest, Frenkie de Jong has provided the clearest indication yet that he will remain at Barcelona.

The Dutchman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, where Erik ten Hag is now in charge. De Jong rose to prominence under Ten Hag. He was a vital part of an Ajax team that advanced to the Champions League final four in 2019. These accomplishments earned him a move to the Nou Camp.

De Jong recently completed his third season at Barcelona. A team that has lacked success for the whole of his tenure there. United is looking for a centre midfielder, while Xavi is rebuilding his Catalan squad. It fanned rumours regarding De Jong’s exit.

On the other hand, the Dutchman has addressed Barcelona fans on social media, admitting that their season has been disappointing but pledging to make a difference next season.

He said: “For us, this has been a dismal season. We were unable to meet our initial objectives. However, I’d like to express my gratitude to the fans for their continued support this year. Next season, we will strive to improve.

After sacking Ronald Koeman, Barcelona switched managers in the middle of the season. Xavi has showed signs that his team is improving, winning a spectacular 4-0 win at the Bernabeu against champions Real Madrid. They finished second in LaLiga, but were eliminated in the group rounds of the Champions League.

What did Xavi say?

Pedri and Gavi, two of the Nou Camp’s midfielders, continue to improve, while De Jong’s future is uncertain following Xavi’s comments. “Frekie is a beast,” he continued.

“He’s someone I admire and believe can help the team succeed in the future. We’ll have to wait and see how the club’s finances pan out, but De Jong is someone I like.”

Barcelona News: In February, De Jong made a statement.

I’m extremely delighted I’m at Barcelona: I’ve wanted to be here from a young age, so in that way it has been a dream come true,” the Dutch midfielder told the Guardian in February.

“However, I would have liked to have won more trophies in my first two years.” To put it another way, I expected more in that regard. But, aside from that, I’m extremely happy here and hope to stay for a long time.”

Both Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic’s contracts are up this summer, and they will leave United. It leaves the club light in the middle of the park as Ten Hag prepares for a vital summer of recruiting.

Declan Rice and Kalvin Phillips have been mentioned as possible replacements, but both players might still stay at their present clubs, West Ham and Leeds, respectively.

Bayern Munich News: Robert Lewandowski’s agent has accused Bayern Munich of wanting to replace him with Erling Haaland by blocking his client from leaving the club this summer.

The 33-year-old, who has just over a year left on his current Bayern contract, has been linked with a lucrative move to Barcelona in recent weeks and is anxious to leave the Allianz Arena as soon as possible.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, is adamant on keeping hold of the striker, who has scored 48 goals for the German champions this season.

After Bayern boss Oliver Kahn stated that the Polish striker will not be allowed to leave the club this summer, Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has slammed the Bundesliga champions and urged them to enable Lewandowski to complete his ‘dream move’ after eight years of outstanding service in Munich.

For Lewandowski, Bayern is history,” Zahavi remarked in an explosive interview with BILD. Bayern made no offer for Lewandowski to sign a new contract. After eight years, he simply wants to quit the club. He’s 34 and wants to realise his ambition

We don’t care about the money because he wants to depart this summer. For some months, he hasn’t felt respected by the board. Bayern lost Robert as a footballer as well as a person.

“Robert now has the opportunity to join the club of his dreams. Why is Bayern refusing to give him this chance?”

“I had no intention of speaking in front of an audience. I have a lot of respect for Bayern Munich, but I couldn’t help but react to the club’s recent words.”

Barcelona has reportedly made a £25 million proposal for the legendary forward, according to German publication Sport1. However, the German giants are determined to keep Lewandowski in Bavaria until his contract expires.

However, Zahavi has warned Bayern against forcing his client to finish the final year of his contract in Germany, claiming that the club is going to replace Lewandowski with Haaland this summer.

Manchester City’s £51 million deal for Borussia Dortmund’s star player was announced earlier this month. Haaland will play for Manchester United, following in his father’s footsteps.

“Yes, they may keep the player for another year,” Zahavi remarked, “but that’s not something I recommend. Lewandowski is a wise man who was aware of what was going on around him as well as Bayern’s plans. He was well aware that Haaland would be his replacement at the club.”
