Jaap Stam warns Ralf Rangnick

Published

Manchester United News: Manchester United is the most talked about club in the world. The Manchester giants are always in the news for a good or a bad reason. This time their former player Jaap Stam has come with a warning for the interim manager.

The former Netherlands international has warned Ralf Rangnick that it’s not going to be easy to win the trust of the Old Trafford old guard.

Stam is a legend at the club. The Dutch defender won the Champions League and three Premier League titles during his three seasons working under Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, he believes the German will have to tackle the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, and Paul Pogba differently. They might have to modify certain tactics that have served them so well over the years.

Manchester United News: What did Stam say?

Manchester United News: Jaap Stam warns Ralf Rangnick.

Stam said: “Rangnick has been with young players before. Now, he is dealing with the likes of Ronaldo, Pogba, Fernandes, and Cavani.”

“These United players require a whole different way of man-management.”

“The job of convincing them about the philosophy is a tough task. The results will come only if they put that into practice on the pitch.

“The caliber of the players is very high. They might look at the manager in a different way and always expect more. They are always observing how you handle them and what you want from them on the pitch. Also, they are not kids.”

The 49-year-old further added that: the young players from outside fail in the Premier League because they find it very difficult to match the intensity. Stam last managed the MLS franchise, FC Cincinnati last summer.

“English Premier League is tough. You will have to perform your 100% in eight out of 10 games. When you compare it to Dutch football, a good player only needs to give that 100 percent in two out of ten games.

“The young players who arrive in the League are struggling with physicality. They are not up to the mark with pace either as they have to put in performances every week.”

Manchester United News: Stam’s record as a manager?

Stam started his managerial career in 2009. He became an assistant coach for PEC Zwolle, and following his stint with Zwolle, Stam signed a three-year contract with Ajax in 2013 as an assistant coach.

Reading:

After his Ajax adventure ended, Stam took the Reading job in the championship. On 13 June 2016, Stam was appointed as manager of English Championship club Reading on an initial two-year contract. However, after a successful first season, in 2018 Reading announced that Stam had left the club with immediate effect.

The former Milan man went to PEC Zwolle and Feyenoord, but the stints didn’t work out as planned.

FC Cincinnati:

Major League Soccer club FC Cincinnati announced that Stam will be their new manager in 2020. However, he was dismissed on 27 September 2021, with Cincinnati second-from-bottom in the Eastern Conference having won four of 25 games.

Manchester United News: Cristiano Ronaldo is crucial to Anthony Elanga’s future as well as Manchester United’s.

Ronaldo scored his 18th Premier League goal against Brentford to close to within two goals of Mohamed Salah in the battle for the Golden Boot.

Elanga thinks that the Portugal international has a lot of clout behind the scenes at United because of the counsel he gives to young players like him.

Ronaldo, according to the attacker, is always talking to him and helping him better. “You can see his record and the number of goals he’s scored in the Premier League; I believe it’s over 100 currently,” Elanga remarked.

“He knows what it takes to rise to the top, so speaking with someone like that is more than appropriate. And, yes, we have a pre-game or even during-game talk. We may be seen in the warm-up.”

“He’ll talk to me and Sancho about what we can do in the game to effect the game, and having someone like that on the team is crucial. He’s someone I look up to, talk to, and seek guidance from. He’s a unique player to collaborate with.”

When he lay on one of Ronaldo’s shots for his hat-trick against Norwich, the two set a new Premier League record for the largest age gap between an assist maker and goal scorer.

Double Siuu

Ronaldo requested Elanga to join him in his signature double ‘Siuu’ goal celebration versus Norwich. Elanga, 20, was flattered to be invited and quipped that Ronaldo did a better job with the ‘Siuu’ than he did.

“The double ‘Siuu’ was a thrilling time,” he remarked. “I was not expecting it.” I answered ‘good enough’ when he said ‘let’s do it,’ but as you can see in the video, I didn’t get in the air correctly. I went ahead and did it anyhow, and it was a memorable experience.”

Elanga has been taken under Ronaldo’s wing. The young Sweden international has been taught to keep an eye out for each other whenever they make a run into the opposition box.

“We discussed how we’re going to work in terms of pressuring before,” he stated. “If I have a chance to look up, and if he gets a chance to look up for me because I’ll be in the box or he’ll be in the box, I’ll be in the box.” It’s a lot of fun for me.”

Elanga set up Bruno Fernandes for United’s first goal against Brentford. He now has three goals and two assists in his first season with the club. He is starting ahead of Marcus Rashford, and he acknowledges that his progress this season has shocked him.

I probably didn’t imagine I’d be doing exactly what I’m doing now at the start,” he admitted. “At the same time, you never know and you always believe in yourself. Individually, I’m quite thrilled with what’s going on. We can still do better as a group, and we shall do better.”

Bruno Fernandes Has A Day To Forget; Lucky To Still Be On The Pitch, As Arsenal Beats Manchester United

Published

When Manchester United made the trip to the Emirates, the fans of the Red Devils did not know what to expect from their team. They were going through a rough patch and skipper Bruno Fernandes had recently come out and said that his team had nothing to play for. With that being the mentality around the team, things did not go as per plan for the most successful club in England.

Arsenal managed to win the match 3-1 on their home turf and it was just not the day for skipper Bruno Fernandes and his side. Some would even argue that the Portuguese international was lucky to still be on the pitch (for his studs-up late challenge on Nuno Tavares). However, the most crucial moment of the game was his penalty miss that could have literally cost Manchester United a spot in the top four this season.

The Man Who Was Once A Manchester United Hero Now Finds Himself As The Villian- Bruno Fernandes

When Bruno Fernandes was signed back in January 2020, he turned the whole situation Manchester United was in around. With his dynamic play and creativity, a struggling team finished in the top four once again under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He was also a key figure in the team last season, enabling the Red Devils to progress and improve as a unit.

However, things have just not gone his way and neither is the team playing any better this season. The sacking of Solskjaer did not work in favour of the Manchester-based side. Temporary manager Ralf Ragnick’s appointment has totally disrupted the flow of the team and his recent comments have only made things worse.

To add to that, recent injuries to a few crucial players have made the entire team unstable and they are now dependent on Cristiano Ronaldo more than ever. The veteran talisman has delivered to an extent, though even he has not been able to turn their fates this term.

With that being said, the penalty kick that changed the course of the game against Arsenal, was one of the costliest misses of the season. Fans, commentators and Pundits were wondering why Ronaldo didn’t take the kick in the first place. Taking anything back from the Emirates could have seen Bruno Fernandes and co. get back into the hunt for a Champions League berth. The loss ensures that they are now more or less out of the race.

The Volkswagen seems to have deployed its airbags after the crash as it suffered significantly more damage than Bruno Fernandes’ car. It has to be seen if the UK police will look into the matter in the coming days.

Bruno Fernandes is expected to play against Liverpool on Tuesday

As per the Daily Mail, it is expected that Bruno Fernandes will feature in the game against Liverpool on Tuesday. This should certainly be welcomed information for the Manchester United fans.

The Portuguese international played the full 90 minutes of the game against Norwich City at Old Trafford on Sunday. But he could not have much influence on the game as the headlines were taken by the other Portuguese.

A Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick was enough to help Manchester United win the game 3-2. Norwich City fought tooth and nail to get to level peggings. But the United number 7 completed his hattrick with a freekick, hence ending Norwich’s hopes of a comeback.

The win took Manchester United to the 5th spot. The Red Devils are currently three points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. Hence every game is a must-win if they are to have a chance to finish in the top four.

Liverpool are on the same boat as well. The Reds trail Manchester City by just one point. Hence every game is a “final” from here on as per their head coach Jurgen Klopp.

Hence with such high stakes on both sides, Tuesday’s Premier League clash between the two iconic rivals would certainly be heated. It has to be seen if Manchester United can get the better of Liverpool or will the Reds complete the double over them this season.
