Manager Mikel Arteta has openly said that the club is lacking enough personnel in central midfield. Owing to this, the club had shortlisted various players as potential transfer targets.

Bruno Guimarães, Ruben Neves, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, and a few other players were being reported as potential candidates. But it looks like sporting director Edu has moved his attention to the out of favour Juventus midfielder.

Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks with Arthur Melo

News broke earlier in the week that the Gunners were monitoring the situation of Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo. But as per Metro, The deal has already reached an advanced stage.

Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners in advanced talks with Juventus’ Arthur Melo

Arthur Melo started his career at Brazilian club Gremio before moving to Barcelona in 2018. The Brazilian played two seasons at the Spanish club, making 72 appearances in the process.

The central midfielder then moved to Juventus in September 2020 and he has been at the club since. Arthur is reportedly unhappy under Massimiliano Allegri at the moment. Owing to this, he wants to leave the club immediately.

The 25-year old has only made 3 Serie A starts in the 2021/22 season under the Italian manager. To add to this, he was only given 1 start in the UEFA Champions League. Owing to this, Arthur feels underutilized at Juventus.

Arthur Melo has a contract with Juventus until 2025. Arsenal, who are in need of a central midfielder, have reached the Brazilian about a switch in January. And as per reports, the deal is already in the advanced stage with Juventus.

Arsenal reportedly want Arthur on an initial season-long loan. After this, the Gunners would decide if they would like to permanently sign the midfielder at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Arthur could slot directly into the Gunners midfield

If the Brazilian decides to move to North London, he could slot in directly into the Arsenal midfield.

Currently, only Granit Xhaka and Albert Sambi Lokonga are the two available options for Mikel Arteta in central midfield. To add to this, Granit Xhaka has been infected by Covid and it is not known when he would return to the starting XI.

Arthur Melo has played for two of the biggest European clubs in Barcelona and Juventus. To add to this, he has also played 21 official games for the Brazilian National team. Hence the midfielder would certainly have the pedigree to inspire the Gunners to a hopeful top-four finish at the end of the 2021/22 season.

Youri Tielemans has been at Leicester City since July 2019. The Belgian has grown a lot as a player since then, owing to which he is one of the fan favorites at the club.

Tielemans has already created history in his current tenure at Leicester City. The Belgian scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Chelsea in the 2020/21 FA Cup final. Hence getting Leicester City the first FA Cup trophy in their history.

But as per the latest reports, Youri Tielemans wants to leave the Foxes at the end of the season. The 24-year reportedly wants to play at a club that can challenge for championships more frequently. Hence, this has drawn interest from other clubs.

Arsenal Transfer News: Club to go all-in for Youri Tielemans?

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are reportedly preparing a £60m bid for Youri Tielemans in the summer as Real Madrid look on

Real Madrid have been linked with Youri Tielemans for the last few months. But as per El Nacional, Arsenal are set to challenge the Spanish Giants to secure Youri Tielemans signature in the summer.

The Belgian playmaker has especially risen to prominence since the last season. Tielemans had an impressive 6 goals and 4 assists as he played all the games in the Premier League for the Foxes. To add to this, the Belgian has already scored 5 goals in the League in the 2021/22 campaign.

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers recognizes that Youri Tielemans is a key player. Owing to this, he has made it clear that the Belgian would not be leaving in the January transfer window.

Arsenal reportedly have recognized Youri Tielemans as their primary transfer target in the summer. The Gunners will reportedly make an initial bid of £60m for the Belgian when the transfer window opens in June.

As per reports, the Gunners have been interested in Youri Tielemans for a long time. But they have stepped up their interest in the last few months after news broke out that the Belgian is looking to leave the Foxes.

Mikel Arteta is in need of a creative central midfielder who could dictate play. Currently, Arsenal use Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka in their midfield, but the duo is primarily defensive. Hence, adding Tielemans would add another dynamic to their play.

Real Madrid also want the Belgian playmaker

As stated earlier, Real Madrid have recently been linked with Youri Tielemans. The Spanish Giants reportedly see the Belgian to lead the midfield in the coming seasons.

Both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric have been invaluable to the Spanish Giants. But given their age, the duo may not be able to deliver at the same levels in the upcoming seasons. Hence, Florentino Perez is reportedly targeting Tielemans to bolster his midfield as the club looks to return to their glory days.

Adama Traore

Arsenal urged to complete transfer deal for winger Traore

Martin Keown has urged Arsenal to make a move for Wolves star Adama Traore.

It is no secret that Mikel Arteta NEEDS to strengthen his Arsenal squad over the course of the transfer window as a number of injuries and Covid-19 outbreaks have devastated his Gunners squad.

That has led to many reports that he will look to improve the squad and add another midfielder and striker to the attack in order to keep in that chase to get back inside the top sour spots

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is keen to strengthen his squad with discussions ongoing over a move worth £20million for Traore– with Wolves ready to cash in with just 18 months left on Traore’s deal, and they are reportedly leading the chase for the big man.

However, former Gunners defender Keown however believes his old side should be rivalling Spurs for Traore’s signature, Keown told BBC Final Score: ‘I feel Traore is awesome at times and just for once, we have the satisfaction of seeing it.

‘It’s a lovely finish from him. I’d sign him if I was a manager. Arsenal – get in and buy him.’

IcFootballnews View…

There are many people out there that firmly believe Traore should be playing at one of the big clubs in the Premier League, and rightly so, he has many top qualities.

However, his final delivery is not good enough and right now, adding him to that Arsenal squad would not add goals to the attack.

The Gunners need a finisher this month and another central midfielder, so that is where there money should go, not splashing £40 million on a player that has scored once in the last 22 Premier League appearances.

So we would be very shocked to see Traore at Arsenal, and it is much more likely that he goes to Spurs

Club reportedly preparing a shock bid for £10m Nottingham Forest player

Arsenal Transfer News: The Gunners are looking to add depth to their squad in January. Owing to this, they are monitoring Nottingham Forest’s 21-year-old Djed Spence.

The Gunners supporters would certainly not enjoy hearing ‘Nottingham Forest’ anytime soon. The Reds recently knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup in the third round. Nottingham Forest, who were playing at home, were resolute in both attack and defence.

Arsenal failed to even register a shot on target as Nottingham’s goalkeeper, Brice Samba, had a quiet night in goal. Substitute Lewis Grabban scored for the Reds in the 83rd minute to ensure that his team won the game 1-0. Though Arsenal lost, it certainly looks like Mikel Arteta and the club’s board members were impressed by a certain Nottingham Forest player.

Arsenal are monitoring Djed Spence

Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners are reportedly preparing a shock bid for £10m Nottingham Forest player

As per Football London, the Gunners are attempting to sign Djed Spence in January. The 21-year-old Middlesbrough player is currently on loan at the Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Spence had a terrific showing against Arsenal in the FA Cup. The youngster was the highest-rated player in the game according to multiple footballing websites.

He has represented Fulham and Middlesbrough in his youth career. He made his first-team debut for Middlesbrough in the 2018/19 season. Since then has made 70 appearances for Boro’s first team.

Djed Spence joined Nottingham Forest on loan in August 2021. Since then, the Englishman has played 20 games for the Reds and has also scored one goal.

One of the main positives of Djed Spence is his versatility. The Nottingham Forest player can play as a right-back, right midfielder, and also as a right-winger. Owing to his prowess, Spence has gained interest from foreign clubs as well.

As per the report, Serie A giants Inter Milan and AS Roma are also eager in signing Spence. Even if Arsenal manage to buy the player from Middlesbrough, he won’t be able to play for them this season.

Djed Spence won’t be able to play for Arsenal until the 2022/23 season, as he has already represented two teams this season. The right-back played for Boro before moving to Nottingham Forest in August last year. Hence, the Gunners would have to loan him back to the Reds for now.

Will Spence be a good buy for Mikel Arteta?

Djed Spence is reportedly being valued at £10m by Middlesbrough. Hence, it would be a good deal given the fact that both Cedric Soares and Callum Chambers may leave Arsenal in the summer. Mikel Arteta is building a team of youngsters, hence Djed Spence would surely fit in his plans if the Spaniard decides to sign him in January.
