Federico Chiesa set to miss Italy’s World Cup qualifiers with ACL tear

Juventus News: In what comes in as bad news for all football fans, Federico Chiesa has suffered an ACL tear. The Italian winger suffered the horrific injury during Juve’s 4-3 victory over AS Roma.

A lunging tackle from Roma defender Chris Smalling brought an end to Chiesa’s evening only after 32 minutes. The 24-year-old tried to carry on after the initial contact but eventually had to make way for further treatment.

However, he had already left his mark on the game by then, delivering a perfect assist for Dybala’s equaliser. Reports after the game revealed that he had suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear and will remain out for the rest of the season.

Federico Chiesa will be a huge miss for Juventus, who are already out of the title race in Serie A for a second consecutive year. Massimiliano Allegri will have to do without his goal-scoring skills and yet find a solution in front of the goal.

With 2022 being a World Cup year, the cost could be even more for Federico Chiesa. The youngster will definitely miss Italy’s World Cup qualifiers in March.

Italy failed to earn direct qualification for the World Cups and will have to go through a playoffs round. They are all set to take on North Macedonia on the 25th of March. In the event that they do win the match, they will have to play another one to secure their place in the marquee event.

Juventus News: Federico Chiesa will miss the rest of the season

The Azzurri will take on either Portugal or Turkey in the playoff round final to get themselves through to Qatar. Roberto Mancini’s side will need to find other ways to score in those games, in the absence of Chiesa.

Chiesa now also faces a race against time, to get back to complete fitness before the eventual competition in November-December, if his national side makes it into the main stages.

Juventus have confirmed that Chiesa will undergo surgery in the next few days. After the surgery is successful, he will have to go through a lengthy rehab before being cleared to take the field eventually.

In a statement, Juventus said: “During yesterday’s match, Federico Chiesa felt a blunt trauma sprain to his left knee. The diagnostic tests performed this morning at J|Medical revealed an injury of the anterior cruciate ligament. It will be necessary for the player to undergo surgery in the next few days.”

Chiesa had a blistering season for both Juventus and Italy last year. The skilful winger lit up Italy’s EURO 2020 campaign, where he scored a goal in the semi-finals against Spain. For Juventus, he has 4 goals and as many assists this season in 18 appearances.

Many Juventus players have already spoken out for Chiesa, wishing him the very best for the next few months. We, too, as football fans wish him a speedy recovery and hope he makes a stunning comeback to the pitch.

The rumours started because Thomas Tuchel loves this player. He thinks Chiesa is one of the best wingers in the game. He is a modern player so Tuchel would love to have Chiesa at Chelsea. This is something true. Juventus are not planning to sell Chiesa. Juventus are not speaking to Chelsea. Chiesa’s people are not speaking to Chelsea. As of today, there is nothing.”

The Italy international was also linked with other Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Manchester City over the past few months. Chelsea News: With the winter transfer window upon us, Premier League club Chelsea will be looking to get some reinforcements. Moreover with the injury list going up with each passing matchday, they would certainly require some.

Moreover according to reports, Chelsea have a healthy sum to spend this winter with reports suggesting the Blues have £241 million in their kitty. This has been revealed by Kieran Maguire who is a football finance expert. Hence we take a look at the three players Chelsea can target in the January transfer window. These are sorted as per the requirement for Thomas Tuchel’s men.

Declan Rice- West Ham United

The first player we are looking at is none other than midfielder Declan Rice. The English youngster is one of the most sought after players in the country at the moment. And why not given his exploits?

Rice impressed heavily in the weekend game against Chelsea wherein the Hammers won 3-2. Hence it only makes sense that Chelsea will be taking a better look at the man. Thomas Tuchel too has praised Declan Rice a lot.

Chelsea News : 3 PLAYERS the Blues can target in January

“I am absolutely aware that he is a Chelsea boy and he comes through the academy and he is very close to our guys. He’s a very strong player, an important member of the England team. So it speaks for itself,” said the German coach.

“I am absolutely impressed by Soucek and him [Rice].What they do since I came into the Premier League. What they do for West Ham. They are real helpers on the pitch, they have an incredible volume both of them.”

Jules Kounde- Sevilla

For all certainty it looked like Jules Kounde will be heading to Stamford Bridge in the summer. However a last minute misunderstanding from both sides meant the deal could no longer be carried out.

However reports in Spain suggest that Chelsea still haven’t lost interest in Kounde. And why would they? With problems in contract renewal with Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger- they need s young defender in their ranks.

The only written, formal offer from Chelsea came last Wednesday, around 5pm,” said Sevilla director Monchi in August. “We weren’t satisfied with the offer, and it was linked to Chelsea selling a player. It was a decent fee but it didn’t meet our criteria, ” he said.

We haven’t spoken with Chelsea since Friday night. We all decided that it was best Jules didn’t travel to Elche. It’s normal for players to be affected by news of any kind. Last year he had the interest from City and now Chelsea this year.”

Federico Chiesa- Juventus

And the final player we look at today is Federico Chiesa of Juventus. The Italian youngster is one of the rising stars in Europe and is definitely destined to be one of the best in the coming years.

Chelsea have been tempted to sign Chiesa before as well. However their £100 million interest was immediately shut down by Juventus. But noe reports are arising that Chelsea are willing to bid £72 million for the Italian once again.
